New Looks At MP-08 Grimlock, Solves Height Issue?

By bwbm on Friday, November 21, 2008 @ 12:58:26 PM

Thanks to the 2-chan boards, we have some new images of Masterpiece MP-08 that may help us solve the issue regarding the height of the figure that has caused many fans to lose sleep over.

The image from the latest issue of Hobby Japan Magazine provides a better size comparison of MP-08 Grimlock compared to Generation 1 Optimus Prime while using the Brain Transfer Device.

A previous image showed Grimlock sitting down, distorting the actual height of the figure.

Other images of the figure include a look at his crown and triumphant sword raising pose.

Some other images in the gallery below include a sketch of Alternity Fairlady Z (Nissan 350Z) Megatron and Alternity Nissan GT-R Convoy.

I'd limit this to the Subarus, I've never had one of those look as good after transforming as it did out of the box.

Its basically the hardest Transformer to transform ever, IMO. I've owned/played with just about every other one, and nothing else comes close. Fortunately its not hard to get all the panels to line up once you do manage to transform it, unlike some other Alts that end up with sloppy alt modes... read more

Now that really sucks.... engineering gaff.. we can't figure out how to do this... so meh... take it off and put it back together... I love the finished product transformation... hate that aspect of it...

See, that doesn't sound "challenging" as much as "a huge pain in the ass." And Titanium Grimlock's arms just annoy me to no end.

Heh, in the BT book's step-by-step transformation photos, they show removal/reattachment of the forearms as one of the steps.

Alt Grimlock is a really solid figure, if you don't mind the fact that he's a car. Its also the most... challenging one to transform, if that floats your boat. I'm keeping mine, but he'll never be TF'd again with MP Grim on its way. Titanium Grimlock was good for a Titanium and... read more

Yeah... for me as well, Animated Grimlock's been the only good one. G1 had crap articulation. BW was a joke. Energon was just... a turd out there. Just a turd. Classics as well. Shame, since the dino mode is incredible. But the robot is so damn bad. Don't have Alternators. Started collectin... read more
