New Universe, Robot Heroes Figures Revealed!

By bwbm on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 @ 07:58:43 AM

We have learned of some new upcoming Transformers Universe and Robot Heroes (now under the Universe brand) figures via listings in a Wal-Mart store computer.

"Zobovor" of the Google Transformers talk group reports that main line figures include deluxe class Cheetor, Cyclonus, Hot Shot, and Starscream. There is also an unknown figure listed just as "Autobot."

The Robot Heroes two-packs listed in the computer include the following:

  • Snarl VS Sharkticon
  • Cheetor VS Tankor
  • Perceptor VS Ha
  • Tigatron VS Inferno
  • Richochet VS Pre
  • Super Op VS RID
  • Prowl VS Laserbeak
  • Optimus VS Jetstorm
  • Victory Saber VS ??

Victory Saber is the fusion of Star Saber and Victory Leo from the Japanese Transformers series, "Victory."

The Cheetor VS Tankor was announced at this year's BotCon.

The "Super Op VS RID" set most likely is in reference to the Robots In Disguise-era Optimus Prime VS Megatron two-pack that was also announced at BotCon.

It is unknown at this time what character the latter half of the Perceptor and Ricochet two-packs will be, but "Zobovor" has speculated that Ricochet may be packaged with Predaking.

Thanks to "Hobbes-timus Prime" from the Community for the heads up!

I wouldn't feel dumb about it. Hasbro made a similar mistake, though in reverse, during Armada. Rad called Hot Shot, Hot Rod in an episode or few, but that was cause Hasbro didn't check the scripts to for name adjustments. (Hot Shot was named Hot Rod in Micron Legend.)

Never said you were. Just said that honestly, a post that funny is what makes my day. We all make mistakes. Laughing at them is what makes comedy fun.

I was taking out my Hot Rod toy and thought to myself, "Wait a minute, did i use Hot Shot's name as Hot Rod's?" So i come on to check & not only did i do that ON ACCIDENT, but someone has decided to make me look like some kid that doesnt know about Transformers or just insult ... read more

I hope we get more guys from other series. I love getting G1 updates, but I really want the 25th anniversary line to emcompass everything!

I don't mind it considering 1) they're part of the 25th Ann. line which aims to represent all incarnations of the TF brand and 2) the fact that the original Hot Shot and Cheetor figures really sucked.

It kind of saddened me at first when they announced the "redo" figures of Hot Shot and Cheetor. I'll wait until I see 'em to pass any true judgement...but I'd rather see older characters redone before the likes of newer, more modern TF series charcters being done again. I assum... read more
