Official Word From Hasbro on Seacon Set

By admin on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 @ 07:59:57 PM

After much speculation as to the status of the Universe/Energon Seacon set, Transfandom member iacon45 has obtained official word via email to Hasbro that the set has been pushed back and that its release is up in the air. You can view the full post over at Transfandom here. Thanks to TFans member Nevermore and Transfandom for the news!

"IF" this set is released (and I hope that it will be... I was looking forward to this repaint), I feel sorry for the person who purchased the prototype on eBay last week... they spent $820.00 w/shipping!!!

one more comment... at the very least, perhaps it will be released as part of a Transformers Collector's Club exclusive, or something along those lines.

Is it true that Universe is Canned? Ashame that the reissues didnt sell well...it was the bum weapons and high prices I think that did them in.

Whatever happened to that Universe Decepticon Jetfire release?

Oh yes and for $810 I would much rather buy a MIB complete G1 Fort Max. Thank you very much.

The Decepticon Jetfire got cancelled, but someone on one of the boards has one that he posted pics of. It's too bad. I would have liked to have seen a "Pants" Nemesis Prime that he could have combined with.

Even though these repaints may not surface in production, everyone should keep their fingers crossed Takara to relaese them in the TFC collection in thier G1 colors. Obviously the mold survived for these guys. They were pretty rare as a box set in G1. They would be an awesome set.

Cancelling this set is completely retarded. What are they thinking? The Seacon Set would have been one of the top 20 Transformers released this year. They would've made a fortune and repaired the strained relationship with the fans who are sick and tired of cheap recolors of craptastic toys. Hasbro, you guys have to be on drugs...what the heck is wrong with you guys? Dam marketing Execs don't know squat I tell ya. Get a true fan to work for you guys for crying out loud!
