"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" co-screenwriter Roberto Orci has said that there's "maybe...less humans,"
more robots, and a more science-fiction element to the film.
During his conversation with
Sci-Fi Wire at the Television Critics Association, Mr. Orci revealed a new Transformer we will see and notes that the sequel will feature a better balance between robots and humans.
He also says that the film will have more of a science-fiction storyline.
"This movie is structured differently in that you now know there are Transformers in the world, and therefore you can get right to them," he says. "As a result, there's kind of more Transformers throughout the movie."
Mr. Orci straight-up revealed that Soundwave will be in the film. He did not elaborate on the alternate mode of the Transformer, or anything else about the character.
However, he remained rather coy about Arcee, despite the
multiple reports we have heard on this Transformer. "[S]he may make an appearance," Mr. Orci said. "We'll see."
He also mentions that "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" will have more of a science-fiction element to it. "The bad guys are little more coherent in terms of what their plan is and what they're attempting to do," he tells Sci Fi Wire. "So it feels more like more of a sci-fi battle."
Finally, Mr. Orci said that "[i]f you liked the first one, you'll like this one," but also offered a little comfort to fans who may have been a little turned off from the first film. "[I]f you were a genuine fan of what Transformers was and felt a little bit left behind by the first one, I think this one's going to be more for you."

Wonder Twin powers activate! "Maybe there's less humans" for some reason doesn't really bother me... And the prospect of Soundwave very much excites me! |

My understanding is that Hasbro only has pretty limited input into the making of the movies - basically, because they didn't front any money to have the films produced. [Heh, I originally typed "milfs" instead of "films" in the previous sentence.] |

I think this means that Hasbro came in and "Transformered" them up. Like more like we know them as & maybe even more G1. Not to the extent of changing the movie though obviously. I for one am HAPPY that he said all this as it sounds like less Bay ness & more Transformer Has-Taknes... read more |

Maybe he's an annoying little creature that gets squished in a ten-second gag scene. Maybe there's robo-pee involved. |
