Paramount Pictures has released a list of the main characters of the
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Yahoo! has posted the full list along with a never-before-seen image of Ravage.
National newspaper
USA Today has posted the list as well, with commentary from Director Michael Bay and scriptwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci on the newcoming characters.
The newspaper's website also provides our first look of the newcomer Decepticon The Doctor.
The following is the list that is compiled from both the Yahoo! and USA Today articles.
AUTOBOTS
OPTIMUS PRIME: Autobot Leader
IRONHIDE: Weapons specialist
RATCHET: Medic
BUMBLEBEE
Friend and mode of transportation for Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf)
Arcee
A female pink Autobot motorcycle that shows up as Mikaela Banes' (Megan Fox) motorcycle.
JETFIRE
An older SR71 Blackbird jet Decepticon who switches sides. "He's old, craggy, forgetful[and] doesn't work very well," Mr. Bay tells USA Today. "[He] [c]an't transform very well, because he's very geriatric. They get stuck with him a lot. He knows the plan of the bad guys, but he forgets all the good parts of the plan."
JOLT
The original toy was a Decepticon, but in the movie he's a good guy - Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid
SIDESWIPE
SKID & MUDFLAP: a.k.a. "The Twins" - Chevrolet Beat and Trax concept cars
"Some of the junior Transformers are just dumb," Mr. Bay tells the paper with a laugh. "But it's great for kids because they're like the Little Engine That Could. They're (screw)-ups, but they get really heroic at the end."
DECEPTICONS
STARSCREAM
SCORPONOK
THE FALLEN
One of the original Transformers, he's called "the most elemental bad guy" by the screenwriters.
He is "sort of the Transformers' version of Lucifer," the USA Today article reads. Mr. Orci and Mr. Kurtzman say that The Fallen holds the key to life on both Earth and Cybertron, the Transformers' home planet.
SIDEWAYS: Audi R8
SOUNDWAVE: A cassette player in the original toys; his alternate mode will fly
RAVAGE
While he has always been lethal, "There's actually another skill set Ravage has that didn't exist before," Mr. Kurtzman tells USA Today. "[S]o there's going to be a surprise for fans."
The four-legged, cat-like robot will not speak - only ferocious growling.

INSECTIONS
The giant bugs in the original series and Hasbro toy line will make an appearance in the
Revenge of the Fallen, but are now tiny creepy-crawly infiltrators.
THE DOCTOR
A spider-like droid that transforms into various implements of torture and has a not-so-nice encounter with star Shia LaBeouf
WHEELIE: small, radio-controlled truck
DEMOLISHER: One of the Constructicons that transform into construction vehicles
DEVASTATOR
A giant robot formed by the Constructicons joining together; individually, they are: Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload and Mixmaster.
"He's made of vehicles designed to build, and he turns into is someone who loves to destroy," Mr. Orci tells the paper. "He is an agent of absolute chaos."
Mr. Bay says Devastator is the crème de la smash and got a uncharacteristic reaction out of the film's executive producer already.
"[Executive Producer Steven] Spielberg saw it and said, 'This is (expletive) awesome!'" Mr. Bay recalls. "It's always nice when you can make him swear."
