Possible New Transformers Generations Design for G1 Optimus Prime with Roller Targetmaster?

By Jack on Sunday, January 13, 2013

Thanks to griffin over at Ozformers, who has posted an image from Toy Hobby Retailer magazine of what may be a new Transformers Thanks ot Generations G1 Optimus Prime figure design. The image that appears in a magazine article celebrating Hasbro's 90th year as a toy maker. Is an illustration that depicts an Optimus Prime with man of the hallmarks of the Generation 1 version. What is even cooler is the Roller vehicle presented as a Targetmaster weapon! Take this at face value, as we have no news of a new figure at this time.
As Austin Powers once said, "How'd I miss those baby"... the latest issue of Toy Hobby Retailer magazine has been looking at me for about a month (sitting on my desk next to the computer), and I only just noticed that on the cover "Hasbro montage" (promoting it's major brands in its 90th anniversary this year), there was something to do with Transformers buried in the middle.

Taking a closer look, I realised that I didn't recognise the toy artwork at all... but knew that it was Gen1 Optimus (it is definitely NOT TFPrime or Movie Optimus), with a gun that appears to have truck parts on it (blue cab with windshield and lights, three sets of "wheels" on the side).
So, could 2013 see a Generations line with a gimmick of convertible weapons like the Powercore Combiners or Arms Micron... with the weapons turning into drone vehicles instead of Minicons/Microns?

I guess we'll find out in about a month's time at the American Toyfair. But for now, enjoy this teaser...

Twitter user @tsukumo_TF decided to help Legends Huffer not feel so left out while his wavemate Blackjack was being a chest decoration for Motormaster. With some simple fanmoding, Huffer can now take position on Ultra Prime, and looks really nice doing so! This works the same way as early pictures showed Thundercracker, by grasping the pegs on Ultra Prime's chest. The same caution may apply though: Mind how you fit Huffer on there or risk the hands breaking. Click through to check out the photos!
Hasbro's Greek website has posted official images for upcoming Combiner Wars figures! We've got Voyagers Hot Spot and Cyclonus plus Legends Groove, Viper, and Warpath. While no new photos of Defensor or Galvatronus are shown, these are probably the best look we've gotten at the third wave of Combiner Wars so far. Keep reading to see!
Seibertron user Bounti76 has located Generations Brainstorm at TJ Maxx! The discount store chanin is charging $15.99 for the figure, which is not only pretty reasonable but makes it fairly likely that you'll soon be able to find it at the Ross discount chain for a dollar or two less. Keep reading for the photographic proof!
Chuckdawg has posted a new video for the final Hasbro Aerialbot just starting to get in to distribution with the rest of wave 2. Air Raid is a heavy reworking of Skydive, and the video shows the new elements of the toy in both modes, as well as finally showing a fully assembled Superion. But apart from a fully joking segment near the start, the contents of the included comic are not disclosed, so it will remain a mystery a while longer what this wave is packed with. With a new crossover event getting ready to kick off, marked with the return of Windblade's self-titled series, John Barber and Mairghread Scott have been taking the chance to talk about the motivations and situations that have brought the story to this point and what we can expect going in to it. Today two interviews went up on Comic Book Resources and Women Write About Comics, and between them there's a lot to find out about what the next three months worth of stories and beyond have in store. Read on for excerpts and links back to the interviews!
