Possible New Transformers Generations Design for G1 Optimus Prime with Roller Targetmaster?
Jack - Sunday, January 13, 2013

Thanks to griffin over at Ozformers, who has posted an image from Toy Hobby Retailer magazine of what may be a new Transformers Thanks ot Generations G1 Optimus Prime figure design. The image that appears in a magazine article celebrating Hasbro's 90th year as a toy maker. Is an illustration that depicts an Optimus Prime with man of the hallmarks of the Generation 1 version. What is even cooler is the Roller vehicle presented as a Targetmaster weapon! Take this at face value, as we have no news of a new figure at this time.
As Austin Powers once said, "How'd I miss those baby"... the latest issue of Toy Hobby Retailer magazine has been looking at me for about a month (sitting on my desk next to the computer), and I only just noticed that on the cover "Hasbro montage" (promoting it's major brands in its 90th anniversary this year), there was something to do with Transformers buried in the middle.

Taking a closer look, I realised that I didn't recognise the toy artwork at all... but knew that it was Gen1 Optimus (it is definitely NOT TFPrime or Movie Optimus), with a gun that appears to have truck parts on it (blue cab with windshield and lights, three sets of "wheels" on the side).
So, could 2013 see a Generations line with a gimmick of convertible weapons like the Powercore Combiners or Arms Micron... with the weapons turning into drone vehicles instead of Minicons/Microns?

I guess we'll find out in about a month's time at the American Toyfair. But for now, enjoy this teaser...

I'm all for this with the idea/hope of more Targetmasters to come. As is, more Generations stuff is good. Guess Toyfare will tell.

I could be tempted, if only for the inevitable third party upgrades, or the hopeful Thunderclash or Pyro repaint.

The split chest reminds me of the Movie-verse style. I guess its ok. Not sure about that Roller idea... would be neat if they could figure out how to get that gun platform from the Combat Deck to be a targetmaster weapon. But if Roller is actually what that is, hopefully that means a trailer will al... read more

Many if us have been focusing on a particular Walgreens exclusive of late, that being the Clone two pack of Wingspan and Cloudraker coming later this year. But that may not be alone. Shown as a still image in a Youtube video from user rektangular, there's a photo of what's said to be a Walgreens inventory screen, on which an exclusive Deluxe Wreck-Gar is seen listed. The simplest answer is that this is the 2010 Generations Junkion mold once again, especially since it was just put in use earlier this year for a Platinum Edition set. But, the possibility of an interesting surprise always exists. We'll keep an eye out for more info, meanwhile, click through to see the inventory list image for yourself!
The ACG convention is happening in Hong Kong, and Flame Toys is among the exhibitors showing off their wares. Besides the Drift figure, whose preorders finally began this week, they're showing two more officially licensed pieces of Transformers merchandise. One is the figure that will follow Drift, Decepticon Justice Division commander Tarn, marking the first official figure of the character. Also shown was the first entry in a new model kit line, launching with a highly stylized Optimus Prime. You can find the photos direct from Flame Toys' Twitter, mirrored below!

Starscream makes his most desperate move yet in order to protect himself from Elita One's rising power. But for once the master of manipulation's only choice is to make himself helpless to another. Good thing no one's got a grudge against Starscream, right? Expected in shops August 9, 2017.
Perhaps the most detailed and articulated Transformers figure ever made, Drift features LED lights, cape with mounted wires for windswept action poses, alternate faces, and plenty of diecast, this is the centerpiece in any Transformers Collectors collection. Extremely limited numbers will be released worldwide on this piece.
