Possible New Transformers Generations Design for G1 Optimus Prime with Roller Targetmaster?
Jack - Sunday, January 13, 2013

Thanks to griffin over at Ozformers, who has posted an image from Toy Hobby Retailer magazine of what may be a new Transformers Thanks ot Generations G1 Optimus Prime figure design. The image that appears in a magazine article celebrating Hasbro's 90th year as a toy maker. Is an illustration that depicts an Optimus Prime with man of the hallmarks of the Generation 1 version. What is even cooler is the Roller vehicle presented as a Targetmaster weapon! Take this at face value, as we have no news of a new figure at this time.
As Austin Powers once said, "How'd I miss those baby"... the latest issue of Toy Hobby Retailer magazine has been looking at me for about a month (sitting on my desk next to the computer), and I only just noticed that on the cover "Hasbro montage" (promoting it's major brands in its 90th anniversary this year), there was something to do with Transformers buried in the middle.

Taking a closer look, I realised that I didn't recognise the toy artwork at all... but knew that it was Gen1 Optimus (it is definitely NOT TFPrime or Movie Optimus), with a gun that appears to have truck parts on it (blue cab with windshield and lights, three sets of "wheels" on the side).
So, could 2013 see a Generations line with a gimmick of convertible weapons like the Powercore Combiners or Arms Micron... with the weapons turning into drone vehicles instead of Minicons/Microns?

I guess we'll find out in about a month's time at the American Toyfair. But for now, enjoy this teaser...

I'm all for this with the idea/hope of more Targetmasters to come. As is, more Generations stuff is good. Guess Toyfare will tell.

I could be tempted, if only for the inevitable third party upgrades, or the hopeful Thunderclash or Pyro repaint.

The split chest reminds me of the Movie-verse style. I guess its ok. Not sure about that Roller idea... would be neat if they could figure out how to get that gun platform from the Combat Deck to be a targetmaster weapon. But if Roller is actually what that is, hopefully that means a trailer will al... read more

Next week will bring us new comics - or at least comic in the Transformers realm, and we have another early Friday preview from Newsarama for Optimus Prime issue 3. Lost Light which had been originally indicated as shipping alongside has since been bumped back to the first week of February. As usual, you can catch our review of OP #3 early next week, where we're sure to learn all about Thundercracker's love of Hawaiian shirts - but until then, keep reading to see the preview pages!
Thanks to the Toy People blog, we've been treated to some nice photography of a few pieces from Titans Return wave 4. Legends Brawn and Roadburn are shown off well, including a meeting between Titan Master and slightly larger Brawn. The real star however is Sky Shadow, who we get a very good look at across all of its modes, as well as a side by side with Sixshot that seems to show that Sky Shadow is taller than everyone's favorite Ninja Consultant. You can find mirrored photos in the gallery below with a link to the original blog article. Keep reading to see it all!
GENERATIONS CLASSIC LEGION SET - These Classic Legion Class Transformers are tiny at 3 inches tall, but they convert fast from one mode to the other and back, allowing you to enact fierce battles between the Autobots - Optimus Prime and Bumblebee - and the Decepticon sabotage specialist, Starscream! Set of 3 is listed for $12.99 on preorder from bigbadtoystore.com
As reported back in early December, the Power of The Primes voting is getting ready to launch. A placeholder page has already been activated on hasbro.com giving a quick background on the significance of the Matrix of Leadership, along with an outline of the voting process that will take place. The first stage is selecting the contenders, a group of nine who were revealed in the early announcement - Ultra Magnus, Hound, Arcee, Shockwave, Megatron, Star Saber, Thunderwing, the "Unknown Evil" Deathsaurus, and Optimus Primal - with the winners moving on to a final selection poll. Keep reading for a link and to check it all out!
Titans Return Deluxe wave 4 has the unusual distinction of including five different toys on its first run. While case revisions can lead to this after a certain time has passed, since the start of Combiner Wars, initial assortments have uniformly held four different molds. The new-face recolors Krok and Quake join three new molds to make wave 4 - and surprisingly these recolors are getting just as much attention as the new guys! Chefatron has some early reviews of both of these affording a good chance to look over both figures and see if these need to go on your shopping list for the near future. Keep reading to see both videos!
