Possible New Transformers Generations Design for G1 Optimus Prime with Roller Targetmaster?
Jack - Sunday, January 13, 2013

Thanks to griffin over at Ozformers, who has posted an image from Toy Hobby Retailer magazine of what may be a new Transformers Thanks ot Generations G1 Optimus Prime figure design. The image that appears in a magazine article celebrating Hasbro's 90th year as a toy maker. Is an illustration that depicts an Optimus Prime with man of the hallmarks of the Generation 1 version. What is even cooler is the Roller vehicle presented as a Targetmaster weapon! Take this at face value, as we have no news of a new figure at this time.
As Austin Powers once said, "How'd I miss those baby"... the latest issue of Toy Hobby Retailer magazine has been looking at me for about a month (sitting on my desk next to the computer), and I only just noticed that on the cover "Hasbro montage" (promoting it's major brands in its 90th anniversary this year), there was something to do with Transformers buried in the middle.

Taking a closer look, I realised that I didn't recognise the toy artwork at all... but knew that it was Gen1 Optimus (it is definitely NOT TFPrime or Movie Optimus), with a gun that appears to have truck parts on it (blue cab with windshield and lights, three sets of "wheels" on the side).
So, could 2013 see a Generations line with a gimmick of convertible weapons like the Powercore Combiners or Arms Micron... with the weapons turning into drone vehicles instead of Minicons/Microns?

I guess we'll find out in about a month's time at the American Toyfair. But for now, enjoy this teaser...

I'm all for this with the idea/hope of more Targetmasters to come. As is, more Generations stuff is good. Guess Toyfare will tell.

I could be tempted, if only for the inevitable third party upgrades, or the hopeful Thunderclash or Pyro repaint.

Looks more like a blue G1 Huffer with the truck windows at the back.

The split chest reminds me of the Movie-verse style. I guess its ok. Not sure about that Roller idea... would be neat if they could figure out how to get that gun platform from the Combat Deck to be a targetmaster weapon. But if Roller is actually what that is, hopefully that means a trailer will al... read more

Hasbro has released the official product images for the new figures revealed at Cybertron Con in Shanghai. The new stock renders give several angles on Hot Rod and Optimus Prime, plus a run through of Sixshot's various forms and a good look at its Titan Master in both modes, revealing the headband emblem style sculpt work. He's a ninja, you know! We also get to see an image set for the Platinum Edition rerelease of Unicron, expected toward the end of this year. Keep reading to see it all!
52Toys has updated once more with display case photos from Cybertron Con, so we have a look at the physical samples for Leader Class Six Shot. Right now it seems like the slides in the presentation may have been slightly off, as they showed one alternate mode twice, so it;s unclear if there are five alternate modes or six in addition to the robot. But either way, this is looking mighty nice! Keep reading for the pictures and the original article text from the panel reveal!
UPDATED with display case photos! On display in the showroom now are all of the new reveals from the presentation, showing excellent look at Hot Rod, as well as the first reveals of Famgry's Titan Master "vehicle" which like Apeface takes strongly after the original toy. Also on hand is Titan Master Ptero's pteranodon robot vehicle, Kickback, and Voyager Optimus. Plus we have slides showing the Platinum Rise of Rodimus set. Click through to see all the photos!
52Toys is covering Cybertron Con 2016 happening right now in Shanghai, and the first piece of info to come out of a product preview is the reveal of new Titan Master Ptero. Just like Clobber, this is based on a Dinobot - Swoop, obviously - but with a bit of a rename to prevent identity confusion. Or maybe cause a little bit. We'll be watching for more info and pictures coming out, so stay with us for ongoing updates. Keep reading to see the full size photo!
Blacklai from the TFND forums has posted a new batch of photos today, giving us a good look at Combiner Wars Computron. Showing in detail the new mold combiner feet and (non-articulated) hands, plus doing a nice overview of each of the individual figures before going to Computron itself, this offers an excellent chance to see what this boxset has to offer and maybe help decide whether this version or the very different Unite Warriors one is right for you. We've mirrored a number of the photos, so keep reading and check them out!
