Prepare to Drool Over Official Looks of Transformers Generations Deluxe Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Starscream, and Fireflight
Peter Van - Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Over the weekend at BotCon 2012, we learned that Hasbro is preparing to offer additional Transformers Generations figures in 2013 inspired by the Transformers Fall of Cybertron video game.

Fireflight and Kickback

Deluxe Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Starscream, and Fireflight are just a few of the toys that will help round out the 40 figures that will be out next calendar year.

To assist in the expansion, Hasbro will also introduce Voyager and Legion class figures.

Sideswipe and Starscream

While we saw Kickback displayed in the dealer room this past weekend at BotCon, Hasbro has released the official images of Ultra Magnus (Optimus Prime repaint with new head mold), Sideswipe, Starscream, and Fireflight (Shockwave repaint)!

Drool over all of them in the gallery.

That's because Optimus isn't supposed to be that bulky. FOC Ultra Magnus will look great standing next to WFC Optimus Prime.

It's stupid of Hastak not to create 2 easy repaints of any starscream mold, possibly the only repaints that many of us collectors will pick up on a regular basis. I'm sooo getting an extra Starscream to turn into Dogfight!

It would be stupid of Hasbro not to crank out 2 easy repaints of that Starscream mold.

I already knew I was grabbing up 2 Shockwaves for parts swapping with earth mode Jazz. Now I'm debating picking up 2 Fireflights for parts swapping with HFTD Terradive... that head screams Bomb-burst to me

Really? I hadn't noticed. That is sneaky, but in a good way. I think speaks to colors used on the Jazz toy how they're so dull.

Oddly that mold looks so much better to me with Magnus' colors than it does as Prime.

More Generations News
We have a few new in hand photos of the Legends wave from Titans Return. While these are not especially an amazing revelation at the moment, these do give a first clear look at Stripes - at least a first since Botcon - and some new size comparisons with more recent toys. Of note, Rewind and Wheelie seem distinctly shorter than the previous couple of years' Legends Class figures. And as a special find, it seems that the Masterpiece Daniel Witwicky minifigure manages a decent fit inside Wheelie's vehicle mode! You can see all of this in the full article below.
The Youtube channel for Kal El Reviews has followed up from the original posting of the review for Titan Class Fortress Maximus with two more videos with a little more focused coverage. First is a comparison video running through the similarities and changes between 2013's Titan Class Metroplex and the new Fort Max. After that is a video running through the step by step transformation from robot mode, to ship, to battle station, and back to robot again. We've embedded both videos below for your convenience, so keep reading and check it out!
Entertainment Weekly has just posted a story about Comixology's new monthly subscription service, Comixology Unlimited! The service offers unlimited access to a pool of comics for USD $5.99 a month - and judging by good ol' Ironhide being smack-dab in the middle of the site's promotional image, which we've included here, odds seem good Transformers comics will be in the mix! We're not sure yet which ones or how many, but keep reading for details!
Artist Priscilla Tramontano, who is the guest artist on IDW's The Transformers this month, has posted her retailer-incentive covers for both that book and Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye! MTMTE gives us a nice relaxed look at Swerve in his bar, a far cry from the current dire straits the crew find themselves in. Meanwhile, Arcee is all business on the ex-RID cover, which is a perfect fit for the issue. Keep reading to see!
UPDATED! Entertainment Earth has Groove in stock as of this writing - link inside! This is maybe a little bit too much Mayhem, yes? At midnight last night, with no advance warning, all the major online retailers stocked Combiner Wars Groove, the much-anticipated Deluxe-sized version of the Protectobot! ...and it's already sold out through most if not all of them. Boo. For more information on the figure and links to the order pages in case our sponsors can restock, keep reading!
