Fatherdeth - Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Yes that's right, Aldi's had Prime deluxe figures for $3.49 today. If you're wondering, Aldi's a low cost grocery chain primarily up North. My wife picked up Black Arachnia for me for $3.49 at one here in NJ!!!! They also had Ratchet, Wheeljack, and some others. Just a heads up. Have you seen the Transformers Prime Deluxe Class Figures Sighted for Just $3.49 Each at Aldi's? List your sightings for others to see in the comments below.

Airachnid's arms are five flavours of fail. It's similar to the arms on Vehicon, which leads me to believe that the toys were designed by the same person... but they've worked out worse on Airachnid than Vehicon. But to be fair, Airachnid is a more ambitious design challenge than Vehico... read more

Black Arachnia is one of my favorite Transformers, so it is of no coincidence Airachnid is one of my favorites. I know exactly what Goktimus is saying. One thing that bugs me is how that nicely sculpted head could be hidden with all that back kibble?!! The toy is not the greatest by a long s... read more

Goki, do you get the US versions or the Japanese versions where you are? I seem to recall from pictures that the alt mode is fine enough. Sometimes you just can't win them all.

Airachnid is kinda rare down here. We haven't seen Transformers below the $5 since the 1980s! The cheapest we get are $7 Legends/Legions... $5 if they're on sale. :~( Welcome the world of TF pricing outside N. America. (T-T) As for the toy... yeah, it's not good, but ... read more

Everyone ought to keep in mind, these will be leftovers from what they didn't sell before Christmas, and the majority of stores did sell through their supply quickly. Also, the markdown prices will vary, since store managers have discretion over these price reductions. But hey, other than Airach... read more

True. They are wave 1. Hopefully someone can get an Airachnid if they haven't gotten one, although the toy sucks.

There've been some pretty spectacular Combiner Wars customs of late - the innovative Raiden that made a 6-part combiner in the format comes to mind. Now, a Japanese Twitter user by the name of @nekogami_red has made the Transformers Prime Decepticons into a combiner! Knock Out, Skyquake, Dreadwing, Airachnid (gotta have a helicopter in there somewhere or it's not Combiner Wars, right?), and Megatron combine to form a body for Unicron! Click through to see the photos.
Not Optimus Prime, not Transformers Prime. Just "Prime." In a bold move, Hasbro is attempting to secure the exclusive trademark rights to use the word "Prime" in reference to "toy robots convertible to other visual toy forms." Are more Primes on the horizon? Is this a pre-emptive move to make sure nobody can Machine Robot Rescue them on a key term in the modern Transformers mythos? No way to tell, but keep reading to see the details of the filing by way of Transformers@TheMoon!
Fans of Transformers Prime will finally get their fill with this listing that just appeared on Amazon for the Complete Series Blu-ray Boxset that is listed for release on August 12, 2016. After watching this via online streams. The great annimation of this series can finally truly be appreciated in a Blu-ray edition. There are no details on extras at this time, but the set is listed for $144.99 USD as an import, without country origin. Treat this as rumor until an official announcement likely to be made as SDCC next month.
The Tranformers Rishing fan page on Facebook have shared news that DeNA's Transformers Rising Mobile Game will be taken offline at the end of this month, November 30th. This closure follows the Transformers Age of Extinction Movie game that was shuttered in September. Meanwhile, the Transformers: Battle Tactics game appears to still be in play with a new game now in Open Beta titled, Transformers: Frontiers.
Thanks to Radio Free Cybertron's Diecast for the heads-up! As befits the name, Amazon has a Transformers deal for their Prime Day promotion! Amazon Prime members can get the Covenant of Primus - the super-slick book that recounts the entire history of the Transformers Aligned Continuity - for only $30! This deal is a Lightning Deal, meaning it's only available for roughly the next three hours. Click through to see the proof and the link!
