Transformers Prime Thundertron Concept Art by Emiliano Santalucia

By Jack on Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Thanks to official Transformers illustrator Emiliano Santalucia who has posted original concept art images of the Transformers Prime Thundertron character on his blog. Fans have been clamoring for this toy since we saw it at SDCC this summer. Introduced in the Exodus novel, the Star Seeker was rendered from the initial designs suggested by Aaron Archer. This is a very rich looking character that has not yet been announced for a Cartoon appearance. Check out the Transformers Prime Thundertron Concept Art by Emiliano Santalucia and more details below.
As a fan and a designer, sometime I enjoy a lot seeing the process behind a design (some time even more!), so instead of posting just the final clean sketch for Thundertron, I wanted to share also a bunch of other sketches to show how the design evolved. You can see one of the preliminary sketch, the following finalized pencils based on Aaron Archer's suggestions and the final ink drawing. BTW, pencils and inks are now just terms for various stage in the process, all steps have been executed digitally.

We are dedicated to being to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

In what appears to be last minute deal, Tranformers and other Hasbro shows will be staying on with Netfilx. As we reported previously, Hasbro and Netflix were to go their own way last month when a new deal fell through. However, without disclosing the terms of the detail. USA Today reports Netflix let be known that Hasbro Studios shows aren't going anywhere. Good news for Netflix customers who need their Transformers fix.
Adweek has posted an article about Hasbro's TV strategies that goes into of detail about The Hub - and what went wrong. The short version is that Discovery was admirably hands-off with the network, leaving Hasbro almost solely in charge of programming... and a combination of slow profits, the proliferation of on-demand viewing, and the departure of President & CEO Margaret Loesch led Hasbro get out of the network-running business. Keep reading for more details on all that and a link to the full article where you can see My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic described as "creepily beloved"!
While we'd previously heard a cutoff date of January 1st for G1 and other Hasbro shows, The Wrap reports that Hasbro and Netflix have been unable to come to terms - a situation more or less confirmed by a Tweet from @HasbroNews. So if you really want to catch up on Transformers Prime, Pound Puppies, or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, you'd best get to watching now. Keep reading for more details!
Variety reports that the Hub will, as previously rumored, become the Discovery Family Channel on October 13th. Discovery will be taking a majority share in the network, but Hasbro will retain a daytime block of programming for its shows such as Transformers Rescue Bots, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and presumably the upcoming Transformers Robots In Disguise. Keep reading for more details!
Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reports that Polygon Pictures has walked away from the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with four awards, two for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters. The other two were for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and between the two series Polygon has taken the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program award for the past three years running. We'll see if Robots In Disguise 2015 will help them maintain their lock on the category, but for now keep reading for an excerpt from the article and a link to full details!
