Transformers Radio Controlled Vehicles From Nikko Coming in 2014

By BaCon on Friday, September 13, 2013

Multi-year deal will see Nikko develop range of R/C vehicles and robots based on Transformers franchise for 2014.

Radio controlled toys manufacturer, Nikko has partnered with Hasbro to develop a line of Transformers radio controlled robots and vehicles.

The new line - kicking off in 2014 and running through to 2016 - will be based on the brand's iconic Autobots and Decepticons from the Transformers universe.

The multi-year agreement offers Nikko the opportunity to leverage the upcoming entertainment slate that includes animated TV programming and the continuing popular movie series.

"No doubt Transformers fans will be excited with the innovative style that Nikko will use to create a complete line up of Radio Controlled Vehicles," said Arne Vissers, Nikko's VP of sales.

"We will follow our strategy to create great toys and sell them at mass market price points without doing any concession to the well-known Nikko quality."

James Walker, VP of European licensing at Hasbro, added: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Nikko on licensed Transformer R/C toys, on the upcoming movie and beyond.

"The vehicles have always been incredibly popular in our Transformers franchise and we are looking forward to giving fans the chance to take control of the Autobots and Decepticons."

Both Hasbro and Nikko will work closely together on a Pan European retail strategy, with dedicated Transformers shelf space, specific POS materials, TV Campaign's and a large social media offensive.

Price points are currently being finalised, and product is scheduled to be on shelves at the beginning in 2014.

SD Figures are coming to recreate the famous Double Convoy episode of Transformers Headmasters. TAGHobby reports that Artstorm's ES Gokin line (Which we presume to be smaller than their EX Gokin line) will be releasing figures of Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime in February and April of 2015, respectively, for the price of 4800 Yen (about $50 US) apiece. Each figure is roughly 4" tall, made of diecast plus PVC and ABS plastics, features multiple points of articulation and accessories. Keep reading to see the photos!
Legendary Transformers artist Andrew Wildman has listed four pages of his original ReGen One art on eBay as part of the process of selling it all off. Wildman explains that these will be the first of probably many pages put up on eBay from time to time. Each page will come bagged and boarded with a copy of the relevant page of Simon Furman's script. Keep reading to see what he's got for sale, and a link to both his blog and the auctions!
Better known as the source of numerous newly discovered testshots, one-offs and mockups for vintage Hasbro Transformers products, the most notable of which never saw retail release. z75sales who has been liquidating this collection has posted two new unboxing videos from the inventory process of this collection. One simply contains sealed G1 items, while the other video said to be the first recorded shows the unpacking of some of the more interesting pieces, at least a portion of which have since been sold. z75sales, the eBay seller responsible for the recent G2 Menasor auction that shocked us all with a final price of $26,800, has posted a video detailing the source of the collection and its size and scope. Unsurprisingly, they're liquidating the collection of a former Hasbro/Kenner engineer. These first two videos explain how the authenticity of each piece is guaranteed, and give a look at the original prototype of Beast Wars Optimal Optimus! More videos are promised but for now, check out these two!
