Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen squeaked by 20 Century Fox's Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs this weekend to remain king of the box office this holiday weekend.
Official tallies show that Revenge only dropped $100,000 below Paramount Pictures sales estimates at $42.4 million while Ice Age fell short by $900,000 of the studio's estimates at $41.6 million.
The two films were originally projected to tie for this weekend's crown.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has amassed $293.6 m in the domestic box office and about $591.4 m worldwide.
