Review: Universe Cyclonus Figure

Some of us have waited 22yrs for this moment. Galvatron's right hand man, Cyclonus, has finally been released as part of the Universe line. He even brought his Nebulan Targetmaster partner, Nightstick, along. Check out this deluxe class figure, and his partner, in this review.

I think you might just be transforming Nightstick wrong, or you've got a bad one... I've got two of the new Cyclonus's and both are just fine, Nightstick transforms flush and connects to either slot just fine.

I'll have to look into the "Headmasters" type mounting for Nightstick and get back with you. In the Japanese anime Headmasters, the Targetmasters mounted into the wrist socket instead of being a handheld weapon. As for the position of Nightstick in Cyclonus' jet mode, it's

I finally got Mine! I think I have a winner for the best jet bot. Cyclonus as in bot mode is a solid and I mean solid action figure! no loose spots, no back heavy, no open gaps, no fiddly crap, no nothing! out of all of the classic figures I have to say this one looks most like it'... read more

are cyclonus's "bunny ears" supposed to be different sizes? mine has a short and tall ear.

I like the flat. It was very much part of the aesthetic. This was back in the days when they were still trying to get the flying wing to work, and the sr-71 blackbird had only recently been publicly acknowledged and photographed. Flat planes were "futuristic".

Ah, gotcha. I took "flat" to mean "blunt," which his nosecone certainly isn't (being one of the longest)

Truth be told the old G1 plane mode did have a flat nose, when looked at from the side. But the Universe robot mode dominates supremely on show accuracy. Except for the color, of course. Yeah, also notice how it looks flat like a pancake. Sorry, that ugly nose throws the whole aesthetic off for me. It's all personal opinion, of course, but I think the Universe (even with the back end flaw) is a better representative of the show.
