The third season of Transformers: Animated could be the series' swan song, Transformers World 2005 reports, citing an anonymous source that seems to have learned it from several other, unnamed sources.

The website reports that they have shopped around this rumor, receiving mostly "no comment" replies, or were simply "unwilling to confirm or deny" this rumor.

Several commenters have posed the question to Transformers Animated Lead Artist Designer Derrick J Wyatt by posting directly on his blog, A Delightful Tedium.

However, Mr. Wyatt only answered one poster's question. The comment reads:

Hey Derrick can you shed some light on the rumor [that] season three will be the last season of TF animated? Also what and where was the g.i.joe cameo? Thanks keep up the great work!

The next post is Mr. Wyatt's, which simple reads, "Sorry, I can't comment on this."

Many have simply assumed that he is answering the first question, but since there were two questions posed in message and it isn't explicitly stated which he is answering, we cannot determine if that is true.

Also, Mr. Wyatt could simply be addressing several of the similar comments above, but he also did not call out those posters' names, which he has done in several other comments throughout his blog.

Until we get this independently confirmed or an official announcement is given, we won't know if this is actually going to happen.
