In the David Kaye-voiced promo video we reported on a short time ago, between the series of slides of character art for the Botcon 2016 box set exclusives and the date and location slide for Botcon, an interesting bit of art was briefly seen. This quick image depicted Megatron, but with features of the visible portion of the body matching original RID Megatron/Car Robots Gigatron. In a recent interview, Pete Sinclair revealed that the "centerpiece" of the souvenir assortment would be something everyone would want to get their hands on. So does this tell us why? See the image and more details below!
Yesterday we got a look at packaging art for the box set. Today via Twitter came the reveal of the individual character art for the Predacon combiner team. As with the box itself, this art is by Marcelo Matere and hews very closely to the style of retail Combiner Wars merchandise. Along with this is a new image of Ravage, depicting the current production sample, which should be a good indicator of the final actual colors of the toy. Finally, another e-mail went out today with a few more updates, including the reveal of an exclusive toy only for Golden Ticket registrants. Read on for details!
The BotCon Twitter has posted an image of the Predacus package art! It's very much in keeping with the rest of the boxart for the Combiner Wars giftsets, both because of its matching trade dress and also because Combiner Wars artist Marcelo Matere provided the artwork. IDW's Josh Perez provided color for the piece - keep reading to check it out!
Cybercast host G1 Hexatron has posted a couple new images from the BotCon 2016 figure set to Facebook! Today we have new looks at Ravage, Cicadacon, and Ramhorn in their vehicle modes, and our first look at the official art for Ram Horn. Looks pretty good! Keep reading to have a look for yourself.
Coinciding with the reveal of the combined form of the 2016 exclusive box set figures today, Fun Publications has sent out an e-mail to let people know that registration for Botcon 2016 is planned to start next week. While a specific day is not indicated, the message does promise alerts by e-mail and social media when everything is ready to go. But for anyone who's been around for a pre-reg cycle, you'll know it's pretty hard to miss once it gets going. You can click through to read the text of the update message, quoted below in the full article.
