Just in from SDCC 2019 are the first of Transformers Preview Night Hasbro Booth Images!
Out on display very prominently of course were prototypes for Unicron, having just been revealed earlier this week on the HasLab crowdfunding platform. We've got lots of photos from various angles to show the details on this remarkable project.
Studio Series was represented with several figures due out on shelves very soon, but with little or nothing new or officially unknown, which is bound to be a disappointment for fans of the movie toyline. But, you can find photos of such things as KSI Boss, Long Haul, Dropkick (car mode), and DOTM Leader Optimus Prime in our gallery!
Siege was clearly the next biggest star after Unicron, bringing out quite a few new items, including some we hadn't heard about at all before! We've got great looks at Leader class Astrotrain, including the first showing of the big accessory component: A unit that can go from launch platform, to weapon storage container, and possibly even flip inside-out to become a coal car for the train mode. It's very interesting looking!
Voyager Apeface and Deluxe Spinister and Crosshairs were on display. All of the toys are in an early enough state that all the samples very clearly look hand painted, but even so Spinister and Apeface look like very solid showings for their respective price points.
Getting a little smaller, we saw two new Micromaster two packs, including members of the Micromaster Combiner Battle Patrol, and a second cassette team set featuring Ratbat and Rumble (the red one).
And comics fans will be excited for one fo the revealed Battle Masters, which is none other than Rung from More Than Meets The Eye. Along with Rung was a silver redeco of Firedrive which is thought to perhaps be Kup's Targetmaster Recoil, though we're not sure on that front yet.
Generations Selects was represented with Redwing, recently sort of released online via Target for about 15 minutes one morning. Plus, Galactic Man Shockwave and Autobot Lancer were present after their recent official first reveal.
Rounding out the preview night display were Cyberverse, which heavily featured the Spark Armor lineup, plus Rescue Bots Academy (check out that Grimlock motorcycle!) and BotBots Series 3.
Plus they showed off the upcoming wave of Walmart G1 reissues, Soundwave & Buzzsaw, and two packs of Laserbeak & Frenzy (the blue one), and Ravage and Rumble (the red one).
The Siege Micromaster 10-pack seems to have been removed from the display case since the sneak preview we got from set up on Tuesday night. But in its place we found two notes promising more reveals to come - so who knows what we might find there after the brand panel on Thursday?
Keep checking back for more news live from the show!
MAN APEFACE IS SHIT! I WANT THE G1 APEFACE JET !!! THE SLIGHTLY DOOBIUS AUTO-CAD WIDE COCKPIT AND NOSE CONE!! I DONT WANT THIS STREAM LINE POINTY SHIT ! LIKE WHAT THEY DID WITH MP STAR SABER, SO POINTY AND CANT BASH THROUGH WALL,
AND WHERE ARE THE PROTRUDING JET INTAKES ? THAT ONE IS VERY IMPORTANT 80S DETAILING ! IT JUST LOOK LIKE RECTANGULAR BLOCK NOW ?
Take a close look at photo 18. It looks like the plates are a removable backpack that connect via a long slot and hole connection. If it's true of the back, let's hope it's also true of the shins.
Is it just me, or do the planet plates on the back of Unicron look like they're removable, similar to what was done with MP BW Megatron?
