Takara Designer Hints at Next Transformers Masterpiece Action Figure

By deceptikhan on Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Well for those that said Buster Prime looks of masterpice quality, its probably b/c he was MADE by the guy in charge of all MP's except MP-03. Here is a translation of the Buster Prime interview with designer Hirinori Kobayashi. He mentions why they made EZ collections Devastator.

He also mentions a little hint about the NEXT Masterpiece
Hirinori Kobayashi came up with the idea of Buster Optimus Prime and designed the muffler > gun transformation. It was also difficult to recreate the exact hue of purplish blue with the plastic, which he considers as more film accurate.

He belongs to domestic product team, and for ROTF he has been mainly responsible for some modifications of the products aimed at Japanese release.

He explains the reason of developing EZ Devastator as, "While RD-16 Devastator is impressively huge, its strength is in gimmicks. I thought Japanese TF fans might not be satisfied with it, since even 25 years old (G1) item achieved Robot > Vehicle > Combine modes."

He was in charge of all Masterpiece products, except for MP-3. He again hints of the new MP next year 2010, which has a significance to Transformers. ("2010" is s Japanese title for G1 season 3.)

One of his favourite (of the products he developed) is Rescue Hero Gobots Chopper!

The latest episode of the QTransformers animation is up on YouTube! There's... not a lot to recommend this one to non-speakers of Japanese unless you like watching Autobots fantasize about a bird pooping on a person, and the person then being hit by a meteor. But if you want to puzzle over that one, keep reading to see!
The second super-chatty episode of the QTransformers animation has hit YouTube! The episode is titled "Mystery of Reliable Kusoge" - "Kusoge" is a Japanese gaming term that is more or less shorthand for "crappy game," and Mystery of Convoy definitely applies. In the episode, Optimus Prime suggests the alternate designation of "Murige" - "Impossible game" - citing games like Ghosts N' Goblins/Ghouls N' Ghosts as (animated!) examples. Keep reading to see the episode!
One of the nigh-infinite Japanese hobby shows took place this weekend, and Autobase Aichi was there: at Super Festival 67, TakaraTomy took the opportunity to show off some interesting items from the near and distant past. The exhibit includes Million Publishing GoShooter and Shouki, one of the many, many SD Optimus Primes with a previously unseen Rodimus, and some original unlettered pages from the Transformers: The Headmasters manga! Keep reading to see!
Dreamlink Entertainment has posted the first episode of their QTransformers animation on YouTube! It's... something that you're not going to get much out of if you're not fluent in Japanese, but there's a few interesting visuals throughout the 4-minute talking-head animation, and it ends with a QTransformers commercial that gives us a better look at the little toys. Keep reading to see it for yourself!
