Takara Tomy Cap Bots New Transformers Hat In and Out of Package Images
Jack - Friday, December 07, 2012

Thanks to TFYUKI who have posted a handful of new images showing us the Takara Tomy Cap Bots new Transforming Hats action figures. The images show the figures in and out of the package, in robot and alternate cap mode as well as a placement on the Fortess Maximus Cerebros' head that shows the scale of these figures are a bit smaller than we may have assumed. Check out the images below of Takara Tomy Cap Bots New Transformers Hats.

Rofl ... I would sadly consider that, just for the sheer absurdity of it!

Don't laugh....I bet that was on the drawing board when these were designed. This fits right in with the shoe transformers that were out a few years ago.

Oh Japan. What's next? Transformer pants? I bet there's a bunch of idiots out there, who wouldn't be caught dead with a normal Transformer toy, that would buy these Hatformers.

More Generation 1 Japan News
This Far Out Friday is a going to be a bit shorter than the others, as its all about these odd Generation 1 mid-Formers sold exclusively in Japan. Starting in 1986 as the "Gokin" series, then revived as the Takara "TF Jr" (Transformers Junior) series in 1987. You may have seen the Optimus Prime figure without realizing it because they looks pretty good at first sight. While smaller, they are actually very clever simplified re-designs of the full the sized toys.

Before the great revival of Transformers following the Hollywood movies. New products were few and far between. With only a handful of new properties like Beast Wars, Beast Machines and the new Car Robots cartoon, fans were still holding tight to their Generation 1 characters and toys. Thus, when Takara began their Super Collection Figures (SCF) series offering renditions of G1 characters. Fans were ecstatic to connect again with their favorite characters.
Japanese site figsoku is reporting on a new licensed Transformers project. Japanese mobile phone provider au is working on a series of Transformers using its Infobar handsets as new alt modes for Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. All share the same physical design, but each have a different deco reflecting one of the standard colorations available on the real Infobar phone. The catch? This is a crowd funded plan, with a fundraising period from February 1 to March 30. So it's up in the air if these will happen at all. We have stills from a promo video, plus some publicity images, so keep reading to take a look.
Takara have posted an update to the official Transformers site. The will be offering a new incentive as part of the Cybertron Satellite campaign starting in December with Optimus Prime, followed by Megatron in April 2017. Starting December 28th, when fans buy a certain amount of Transformers Masterpiece and Legends products from participating retailers. They will receive an limited edition Transformers Convoy metallic file with purchase that we believe is a 9x12" foil-type mini poster.
