Takara Tomy Releasing Masterpiece Sunstorm and Encore Sixshot?
Peter Van - Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Before Takara Tomy's Masterpiece MP-11 Starscream even hits retailers next month, the company has announced that they will repaint the mold as MP-11S Sunstorm.

According to Malaysian retailer Toy Wizard, the company will release the figure towards the end of May 2012.

In addition to this bit of news, Toy Wizard also reports that Takara Tomy has separately announced Encore #23 as Sixshot.

Encore is Takara Tomy's line of Generation 1 reissues. Their 21st and 22nd entries, Soundblaster and Twincast, respectively, will be out this month.

The figure, which has gotten some love from Third Party companies recently, is scheduled for release by Takara in July 2012.

Well, I like him regardless. The only version of him I have is from Animated though.

Sunstorm is a fan term that HasTak picked up on. Basically, Sunstorm is just the yellow seeker seen in G1. Whether he was supposed to be yellow or just a coloring error, who knows.

I missed out on Sixshot the first time around, so I am actually glad to hear this. I am not sure I care about MP Sunstorm. I can honestly say I do not have a single toy of the character. He was in the comics or something right?

If it were just Takara, then I'd hold hope for that. But not from TakaraTOMY. I still can't believe they didn't release an eHobby Metrotitan when they Encore Metroplex came out (even if they were unable to include the Micromaster (Metrobomb?) with him - who cares... I would've total... read more

Anything that promotes the lesser known Seekers is great in my book. That said, I can't imagine a scenario in which I would purchase MP Sunstorm. Maybe if I found him marked down to $15 at Walmart like MP Skywarp was, but otherwise no dice.

If lucky, maybe eHobby will make that, and maybe even the one from Brave.

Hopefully we will get a Deluxe Classics Generations Sunstorm soon. I would say I'm buying this, but I'm sure the price tag will be around $250. and I already a Vintage Sixshot. Maybe they should Encore Greatshot instead

So Sunstorm gets a MP release before a Classics/Universe/Generations release? Meh, character sucks anyways.

Sixshot again? Is Encore just an encore of the reissues from 12 years ago instead of the ones from G1?
