Takara Tomy to Release AM-26 Arms Micron Smokescreen to Transformers Prime Series
Jack - Sunday, September 09, 2012

It appears the Transformers Prime debut of Smokescreen is followed by a bit of news that he will very likely be getting an action figure from our good friends at Takara Tomy. According to some details listed on TF Wiki, there will be an AM-26 Arms Micron Smokescreen coming to Japan that will be a repaint and retool of the deluxe class Knock Out toy on November 24, 2012. Read the full details on the soon to be released AM-26 Arms Micron Smokescreen.
    Smokescreen (Deluxe, 11-24-2012)
    ID number: AM-26
    Accessories: Arms Micron

A redeco (and potential retooling) of Knock Out, Smokescreen is (currently) exclusive to the TakaraTomy Prime toyline. He transforms into a low-riding sports car. As part of the Arms Micron gimmick, he has extra 5mm post-holes in both modes, allowing him to use the weapon-bots. He comes with a (currently unknown and unnamed) Arms Micron partner.

Anything is better than another BB repaint

Based on the character design I saw...this was exactly what I expected. I actually like the knockout mold....I like it better than a BB repaint...

I was hoping for an original mold then a Hot Rod repaint of it

A retool of the crapfest that is the Knockout toy... really Takara? I expected better, guess Smokescreen will not be getting a US release afterall.

There've been some pretty spectacular Combiner Wars customs of late - the innovative Raiden that made a 6-part combiner in the format comes to mind. Now, a Japanese Twitter user by the name of @nekogami_red has made the Transformers Prime Decepticons into a combiner! Knock Out, Skyquake, Dreadwing, Airachnid (gotta have a helicopter in there somewhere or it's not Combiner Wars, right?), and Megatron combine to form a body for Unicron! Not Optimus Prime, not Transformers Prime. Just "Prime." In a bold move, Hasbro is attempting to secure the exclusive trademark rights to use the word "Prime" in reference to "toy robots convertible to other visual toy forms." Are more Primes on the horizon? Is this a pre-emptive move to make sure nobody can Machine Robot Rescue them on a key term in the modern Transformers mythos? No way to tell, but keep reading to see the details of the filing by way of Transformers@TheMoon!
Fans of Transformers Prime will finally get their fill with this listing that just appeared on Amazon for the Complete Series Blu-ray Boxset that is listed for release on August 12, 2016. After watching this via online streams. The great annimation of this series can finally truly be appreciated in a Blu-ray edition. There are no details on extras at this time, but the set is listed for $144.99 USD as an import, without country origin. Treat this as rumor until an official announcement likely to be made as SDCC next month.
The Tranformers Rishing fan page on Facebook have shared news that DeNA's Transformers Rising Mobile Game will be taken offline at the end of this month, November 30th. This closure follows the Transformers Age of Extinction Movie game that was shuttered in September. Meanwhile, the Transformers: Battle Tactics game appears to still be in play with a new game now in Open Beta titled, Transformers: Frontiers.
Thanks to Radio Free Cybertron's Diecast for the heads-up! As befits the name, Amazon has a Transformers deal for their Prime Day promotion!
