TF3 Filming in Gary Indiana - Dodge Decepticon?

By Primus on Thursday, April 01, 2010

The reports by way of Slashfilm and TFLAMB with news about the Production Weekly is reporting via a Tweet that Tranformers 3 is said to be revving up and headed for the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana on April 12th for a "pre-vis scene." I assume that means, pre-visual? There's also some very bogus looking images posted by The Realm Toys of a late model Dodge Charger with a Decepticon emblem on an unidentified back-lot.

Supposedly these came from a mole on the set who snapped the images with his cell-cam:
"I was doing my normal rounds on the lot and came across the Transformers 3 work. All the stuff that you guys had reported SuperHeroHype had was there and more! The main Transformers cars are all there including 2 that I didn’t see in the previous movies. One is a autobot that I couldn’t get close enough to take a picture of because it was being guarded so that it would not be scratched/ damaged. It was a red Ferrari. The other (which wasn’t being guarded as heavily) is a decepticon. It was a dark navy Dodge Charger. I managed to snap a couple of pics with my cell. Sorry for the poor quality."
Note there is no mention of a the Red Ferrari Bay revealed in a previous news report. Upon further review, the images appear to show a 2010 Dodge Charger when it is most likely Bay would be working with something more modern, if not a concept. However, vehicle-based Decepticons have mostly been modern vehicles (Saleen Mustang for Barricade and Audi R8 for Sideways). Even if it as a 2010, it would very likely be more customized than the car that appears in the images.

April fools, or coincidence?

Looks like the logo was photoshopped onto the car. I'd say April Fools. I also thought Exotic cars such as Ferrari didn't want to be associate with War Machines.....

nonsense. by these standards, my 00' Elantra will also be in the movie as an Autobot. not even remotely similar to the movie aesthetic.

Yeah its B.S. If ANY dodge was gonna be a Decep, it would be the Challenger, not the Charger. 4-door POS....

More Age of Extinction News
The TransformersAsia Facebook page has posted a wealth of images of the new Ultimate Optimus Prime, showing off what almost has to be the definitive version of Optimus as he appeared in Transformers (2007), Revenge Of The Fallen, and Dark Of the Moon. Featuring comparisons to the previous APS-01 release, Ultimate Prime features lots more paint and a tremendous loadout of weapons. The figure's due for release on April 24th but in the meantime you can keep reading to see the mirrored gallery of 43 images!
Cinematic Universes are a Thing right now, with Marvel and Star Wars leading the way. Now, according to Deadline, Paramount is looking at their biggest movie property with an eye towards more varied (and frequent) releases. To that end they're enlisting writer Akiva Goldsman, whose credits range from the drama A Beautiful Mind to the well-received TV series Fringe ...to Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. This should be interesting. The story also hints that Michael Bay may unsurprisingly be returning for Transformers 5 after his current movie project - or at least that TF5 won't go ahead until that project is complete. Keep reading for more details!
Site sponsor Robot Kingdom has posted images of the upcoming Hybrid Metal Figuration Age of Extinction Bumblebee from Herocross, a large figure featuring (as the name implies) diecast metal in its construction. It's due for July at a price of $130, and looks decently poseable and highly accessorized as far as SD figures go. Keep reading to see!
ToysRUs Japan has posted new images of Black Knight Optimus Prime! Based on Armor Knight Optimus Prime, the heavily-reworked version of Generations Leader-class Optimus, Black Knight Prime is every bit as extensively painted as the Armor Knight version and looks great. The figure is due for release in August at a price of 8,638 Yen after tax. Keep reading for the photos!
Fans in America are quick to forget about those Bayformers robots. However, in Shanghai a Hunan father and son team have turned away from farming vegetables to the much more profitable endeavor of building Transformers robots statues out of car parts. According to a report on Shanghaist, they are taking in 1 million yuan ~ $160,00 usd each year.
