TF3 Filming in Gary Indiana - Dodge Decepticon?

By Primus on Thursday, April 01, 2010

The reports by way of Slashfilm and TFLAMB with news about the Production Weekly is reporting via a Tweet that Tranformers 3 is said to be revving up and headed for the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana on April 12th for a "pre-vis scene." I assume that means, pre-visual? There's also some very bogus looking images posted by The Realm Toys of a late model Dodge Charger with a Decepticon emblem on an unidentified back-lot.

Supposedly these came from a mole on the set who snapped the images with his cell-cam:
"I was doing my normal rounds on the lot and came across the Transformers 3 work. All the stuff that you guys had reported SuperHeroHype had was there and more! The main Transformers cars are all there including 2 that I didn’t see in the previous movies. One is a autobot that I couldn’t get close enough to take a picture of because it was being guarded so that it would not be scratched/ damaged. It was a red Ferrari. The other (which wasn’t being guarded as heavily) is a decepticon. It was a dark navy Dodge Charger. I managed to snap a couple of pics with my cell. Sorry for the poor quality."
Note there is no mention of a the Red Ferrari Bay revealed in a previous news report. Upon further review, the images appear to show a 2010 Dodge Charger when it is most likely Bay would be working with something more modern, if not a concept. However, vehicle-based Decepticons have mostly been modern vehicles (Saleen Mustang for Barricade and Audi R8 for Sideways). Even if it as a 2010, it would very likely be more customized than the car that appears in the images.

April fools, or coincidence?

Not far behind Slug, we have pictures of the Strafe two pack from the Toys R Us exclusive Evolution Two Pack series. As immediately predicted following Slug's reveal, Strafe comes with the pterosaur Mini-Con mold in G1 Dinobot colors. This seems to indicate that the Energon Swoop mold may go unused, leaving Evolutions Grimlock with no one to unadvisedly combine with. See the pictures below!
Thanks to Instagram user foreverspecialk we have a look at the Optimus Prime and Grimlock promotional display for the Transformers Age of Extintion movie. This massive thing is said to be on the Paramount Lot, we assume that is in Hollywood, California. Read on to see it all after the jump.
Speculation has been high since the reveal of the Grimlock Evolution two pack featuring movie and Energon Grimlock. Today Slug's set has been shown for the first time, and it's probably not what anyone expected! Featuring AOE Deluxe Slug, and a G1 colors version of the triceratops Mini-Con mold representing "classic" Slug. These fit together on a card and may be closer to Deluxe price point, but with no visible changes to Slug it's hard to say whether the demand will be there. See pictures below!
Just in via Italian fan site Ttakon, we have some first looks at the Prime 1 Studio Starscream MMTFM-03 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen statue. The image scans that came from an unnamed Japan collectors magazine show two shots of the figure with looks at the head and a wider shot showing the torso as well. Read on to see the images for this first look at Prime 1 Studio Starscream MMTFM-03 statue now.
