Longtime manga publishers Viz are moving to complete first-ever North American release of the Japanese G1 manga with Transformers: The Manga Volume 3, which is now up for preorder on Amazon for an SRP of $24.99. As with the previous two volumes the contents are by Ban Magami and Masumi Kaneda, and this final volume will bring us from Transformers: Victory through Zone, all the way to the endpoint of Japanese G1, Battlestars.

From Amazon, the author bios:
Ban Megami: Born in Kanagawa in 1957. As the apprentice of manga artist Leiji Matsumoto, he worked as an assistant on “Planetary Robot Danguard Ace,” “Galaxy Express 999” and other works. In 1985, he debuted “Fight! Super Robot Life-form Transformers” and he handled all of the serialization after that as well. He worked on the Kodansha Aoi Tori chapter book “The Secret of Tutankhamen,” the Studio DNA anthology based on the Playstation game “Space Battleship Yamato: The Far-Off Star of Iskandal,” the Heibonsha book “Engineer Story: The Power of Higher Education to Open the Door to the Future” and many other books.
As we may have said before, this is one of those things that we honestly never thought we'd see released in English. This volume in particular will become the only official English representation of Battlestars, the very short-lived final installment in the original Japanese Transformers storyline. Whether the TV Magazine story pages where the majority of Zone and Battlestars actually happened remains to be seen. It would've seemed unreasonable to even ask years ago, but here we are on the verge of getting all the manga! So who knows?
