Topic of the Week: What Did You Think of the Transformers Prime Season 2 Finale?

By Jack on Tuesday, November 06, 2012

The Transformers Prime Season 2 Finale, "Darkest Hour," has come and gone leaving the fans hanging until Season 3 picks up. That said, I have been reading comments online and I see a lot of mixed feelings about the show. Some liked it, some didn't, and many said they didn't expect what happened. Transformers Prime has been a strange ride. in many ways, it is the cartoon that has everything we could have hoped for. Yet, it has not gained the kind of adoration that shows like Animated and others have. What are your thoughts on the Finale, Season 2, and the Prime series overall?

Stay tuned to Tformers.com for more details as they are made available. Your best resource for all the Transformers news and community every day.

It was explained in the penultimate episode that no, Prime could not use the Forge of Solus Prime to create new keys, let alone reconstruct the Omega Lock

I don't like the thought of autobots hunting down other autobots... they do make it look like ratchet will be turn sides. Prime could always make a new omega lock and keys with the forge... with some time.

WoW!!! That's very good. Very descriptive and would be very interesting. Too bad Hasbro has crummy writers.

Fatherdeth- The cliffhanger in itself with the base being destroyed is indeed on its own, awesome. But the way in which it was achieved was awful. It reminds me a little of the season 5 episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In this episode Captain Sisko is faced with a Dominion attack on the stati... read more

For everyone thinking Prime is buried alive ... I kinda have another theory (purely speculative!) but what if Prime either created a fake arm with the Forge of Solus or cut his own arm off as a decoy to throw Megatron off and ducked through the Bridge at the last second. Afterall he was standing... read more

Very enjoyable and the surprise of Wheeljack just appearing out of no where was awesome!!! Although they kill these characters off with no remorse, hopefully he survived. I didn't mind the final episode over all. Now, as for Prime as a whole. When the show first started, I didn'... read more

A few things didn't make sense in the last episode. Why didn't Bulkhead just immobilize everyone and take the kids. Why did they hand over the relics when all they wanted were the keys. Why didn't ratchet ground bridge the kids there. Why didn't Optimus remove the keys (or just one) ... read more

It will not be much of a hunt I suppose. I mean, the Autobots did not even TRY to defend their base, despite a 2 to 1 advantage! Only Wheeljack and Fowler put up a fight. That guy has balls of steel. The first episode will probably start with Megatron finding Optimus amongst the rubble just as... read more

I honestly thought it wasn't too bad. The episodes leading up to this episode were a lot better, it almost seemed like they tried to fit 2 episodes into 1. Overall though, I thought it was pretty good and now the Beast Hunters title makes perfect sense. Shockwave is going to introduce the beasts... read more

In what appears to be last minute deal, Tranformers and other Hasbro shows will be staying on with Netfilx. As we reported previously, Hasbro and Netflix were to go their own way last month when a new deal fell through. However, without disclosing the terms of the detail. USA Today reports Netflix let be known that Hasbro Studios shows aren't going anywhere. Good news for Netflix customers who need their Transformers fix.
Adweek has posted an article about Hasbro's TV strategies that goes into of detail about The Hub - and what went wrong. The short version is that Discovery was admirably hands-off with the network, leaving Hasbro almost solely in charge of programming... and a combination of slow profits, the proliferation of on-demand viewing, and the departure of President & CEO Margaret Loesch led Hasbro get out of the network-running business. Keep reading for more details on all that and a link to the full article where you can see My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic described as "creepily beloved"!
While we'd previously heard a cutoff date of January 1st for G1 and other Hasbro shows, The Wrap reports that Hasbro and Netflix have been unable to come to terms - a situation more or less confirmed by a Tweet from @HasbroNews. So if you really want to catch up on Transformers Prime, Pound Puppies, or My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, you'd best get to watching now. Keep reading for more details!
Variety reports that the Hub will, as previously rumored, become the Discovery Family Channel on October 13th. Discovery will be taking a majority share in the network, but Hasbro will retain a daytime block of programming for its shows such as Transformers Rescue Bots, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and presumably the upcoming Transformers Robots In Disguise. Keep reading for more details!
Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reports that Polygon Pictures has walked away from the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with four awards, two for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters. The other two were for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and between the two series Polygon has taken the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program award for the past three years running. We'll see if Robots In Disguise 2015 will help them maintain their lock on the category, but for now keep reading for an excerpt from the article and a link to full details!
