Gee, hard to say considering how mediocre 2012's fare has been... Masterpiece Optimus Prime (though the hunt for him was a massive load of butthurt). None of the others really stand out to me. :/ Most of my more exciting acquisitions have been of toys that came out before 2012, like _finally_ fi... read more

I have to agree, 95% of the Prime line up are just exceptional figures. And to think I hated Prime when it first came out. Wheeljack changed my mind and then I started collecting at that point. Unfortunately, 2013 is starting to be a let down.

I'm surprised at all the votes for Dreadwing. He was a bit of a turd to me IMO. 2012 was a bit of a letdown for me and I'm losing interest in the figures, so I don't think I could muster up a list for myself.

MP Optimus Prime FE Prime Optimus FOC Soundwave + Laserbeak MP Optimus Prime is just awesome. His poseability really impressed me. I wouldn't say he's better than MP1 Optimus, but he ranks right up there with him. FE Optimus Prime always looked great in the promo pics and I was afraid ... read more

Vehicon is most certainly on top for me. It's among the closest thing there is to perfection in a main line deluxe figure and one that the fandom can mostly agree on which happens.....never!!! FOC Shockwave is another very solid deluxe figure and nice representation. Prime voyager ... read more

RID Vehicon, that mold just kicks ass, and along with Just Vehicon has retool and custom potential (I'm listing them together since it's essentially the same mold) Masterpiece Optimus Prime, the new mold shows that you can do better than "perfection" Masterpiece Thundercracker, I... read more

When Hasbro wanted to roll out their own cartoon series in the 80s, They went to Japan to work with Takara's Microman and Diaclone toy lines. Drawing the primary sources for the Transformers G1 toys that debuted in 1985. While only a small portion of the Microman series were utilized for Hasbro's Transformers. Microman toys were sold in America well before in 1976 as Mego's Micronaughts toys. Great to see these line together again under the Hasbro umbrella. Which, are set to join forces in the new IDW REVOLUTION crossover extravaganza!
Diaclone was launched in Japan by Takara in 1980, the same year I was born. And that’s where my childhood association with Diaclone ends, as growing up in the UK it was primarily Transformers that had my attention. Trickles of Diaclone-based figures did reach the UK but in London I saw neither sight nor sound of them. In addition to Japan and Asia, countries like France, Italy, Holland, Germany and some Scandinavian territories had Diaclone toys on shelves.
