Toy Fair 2009 Transformers Event Coverage

By News Staff on Monday, February 16, 2009

As always, TFormers and ENI are reporting live from Toy Fair 2009 in New York City. Join us as we uncover all the news and details from the Hasbro press event. We'll be reporting on all the announcements as well as showing the Transformers that were on display including new product from Animated and the Revenge of the Fallen Devastator action figure combiner team and more.

"Arlin" of The Arker has posted several images of upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen key chains shown during Toy Fair 2009, and they provide what may be some interesting details. The images provide a colored view of Bumblebee and silhouette views of Optimus Prime, Starcream, and a "New Figure" (*ahem* Megatron *ahem*).

We have just received new official images from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toyline, which also reveals that the Audi R8 character will be named Sideways! Along with the official images of that figure, we also have images of figures we have already seen, although these seem to be the real deal, and not just Photoshopped versions of each. The pics include Deluxe Constructicon Rampage, Bumble Spud, Legends Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, Preview Wave Soundwave and Bumblebee, Fast Action Battlers Double Blade Optimus Prime, the Autobot seeker Breakaway, and the Bumblebee Voice Mixer.

We just received some official shots of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen figures, ranging from the following sublines: Gravity Bots, Power Bots, Robot Heroes, Robot Replicas, Role Play, Ultimate Bumblebee, Voyagers and Scouts classes, Battle Chargers, RPMs, R/C cars, and vehicle playset. Mass consume...now.

We all learned that from Transformers (as well as many other film promotions) that the toys will not be the only things invading shelves when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters this June 24, 2009, as there will be an onslaught of desirable merchandise. For those guys hunting this valuable stuff, this is the gallery for you.

Our sister-site Jedi Insider has posted official images of new Star Wars Transformers figures coming out in June and July of this year. The figures include Kit Fisto/Jedi Starfighter (available June 09), Battle Droid/ATT (June 09), Magna Guard/Fighter (July 09), and Ahsoka Tano/Jedi Star Fighter (July 09). Please note that the deco on Kit Fisto will be different than from what is shown in these mock-ups. For the images, head over to JediInsider.com.

We just finished uploading some live shots of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Devastator to the website for your mass consumption. Take a look at the vehicle-only figures of Rampage (wheel loader), Scavenger (steam shovel), Scrapper (bulldozer), Hightower (crane), Long Haul (dump truck), and Mix Master (cement mixer) that make up this two-foot monstrosity. We also have several shots of Leader class Optimus Prime, Skids (Chevrolet Beat), Mudflap (Chevrolet Trax), and many more.

TFormers and ENI are reporting live from Toy Fair 2009. Just in from the Hasbro press event is news that the Hasbro Transformers display was a little light on products. We do have word that the Devastator action figure combiner team will be sold as a set of six robots for about $100 retail. Stay tuned for more news and images that we will be posting very soon.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, Hasbro is “rolling out” dozens of TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE toys that showcase the innovation and depth that have been synonymous with the toy line since its inception. Featuring numerous styles and varying levels of complexity, Hasbro’s 2009 TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE toy line will appeal to a growing fan base that – after 25 years – spans multiple generations.

Ahead of Toy Fair 2009 in New York City this weekend, Hasbro, Inc. has just put out a press release talking about what we should expect from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toyline, including price points, and approximate release dates. What a lot of you guys were wondering is finally answered, too: Devastator is composed of six robots and will cost $100 USD. Take a look after the jump.

This summer, the colossal battle between the AUTOBOTS and the DECEPTICONS continues when “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE” once again invade movie theaters around the world. The new DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures live-action movie TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN debuts June 26, 2009 and continues the story from the 2007 worldwide blockbuster film that finds two warring factions of robots colliding in a major battle on planet Earth.

Robot Kingdom has announced that all Platinum Edition figure orders through them will now include TF4-branded figure stands. Interestingly, the Hasbro-branded stands look extremely similar to Bandai's "Tamashii Stage" line of stands. Keep reading for photos and details!
A member of the 2005 Forums has sighted and purchased the Evolution of Optimus Prime 2-pack that's exclusive to ToysRUs. The set features the frequently-reissued Classics Voyager Optimus Prime mold in a very Henkei! Henkei! color scheme, and Age of Extinction Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime in a flame deco reminiscent of every body Optimus Prime uses in the Transformers film except this one. Keep reading for photographic proof!
YouTuber Ultramaximus has posted a new video review of the Evolution of Bumblebee 2-pack that's exclusive to ToysRUs. If one Bumblebee at a time's not enough for you, this pack features a "G1" Bumblebee made from the inevitable Legends-class figure of recent years and the premiere appearance of the TF4 version of Shiny New Camaro Bumblebee. Keep reading to see the review!
Autobase Aichi has posted images of Takara's upcoming LA13, Battle Attack Nemesis Prime. This simple figure from the kid-oriented end of the Lost Age line is in the traditional black, red and teal Nemesis Prime/Scourge color scheme- which as it turns out looks pretty nice with Movie Optimus' flame pattern on the hood of the truck. Keep reading to see the photos!
Thanks to Felipe León Nájera of Transformers Colombia, we now have official photos for the upcoming Amazon-exclusive version of Slog, this time in G1 colors! While the G1 colors aren't a huge difference from the retail edition of the toy, they do add a splash of gold- and perhaps more importantly they supplement your SDCC G1 Dinobots set, which Slog was not a part of. Keek reading to see the photos!
