Scouts for "Transformers 2" have visited this transfans' old stomping grounds, Philadelphia, PA for possible filming locations, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Earlier this month "Transformers 2" director Michael Bay was spotted scouting possible filming locations at the campuses of
University of Pennsylvania and Girard College, and scouts were taking a look at the Egyptian Room in the
Masonic Temple across the street from City Hall.
News about the potential filming in the City of Brotherly Love was reported
earlier this month.
It seems the "Transformers 2" filming crew may return to the state of Michigan once more. According to the February 8, 2008 meeting minutes of the Michigan Film Advisory Committee (
PDF), a script for the film was submitted in the mid-January, early-February time frame along with six other films.
The budget for the films ranged from $1.5 to $40 million. It is unclear if that is the budget to film in the state or overall.
There was also a potential scouting visit from DreamWorks at the time the meeting was held, according to the meeting minutes.
It is also unclear where the DreamWorks scout would go, although its possible it could be in the Detroit area, which is where parts of "Transformers" was filmed.
Another scouting location for "Transformers 2" includes
Egypt.
