Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Toyline Launching May 16, 2011?

By bwbm on Friday, November 19, 2010

Thanks to Big Hank, we have an image of an advertisement that seems to reveal that the Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline will be released on May 16, 2011.

The date was found on the same advertisement sheet for the Reveal the Shield line, which also revealed that Deep Dive is a repaint of Sea Spray.

The image is a new image of the advertisement. This date shouldn't be surprising if it is true, since it is in-line with the previous film's toy release.

The official toy street date for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was May 31, 2009, a little less than a month of the film's release of June 25, 2009.

Dark of the Moon is set for a July 1, 2011 release date.

a bit off topic, but I really wish hasbro would quit changing the name of the toy line all the time. Retailers never seem to order anything when a new "line" is about to come out, and it normally screws me out of finding the things I want in store. What's so terrible about just calling... read more

I've reached my thermal limits with Bumblebee molds, especially in the Camaro mold. I do like to think there will be some decent molds this time around, they've had two complete lines before this to perfect this, or so I hope.

I'm just hoping Shockwave will be one of the Leader Class toys. Should be interesting buying these from Iraq, Will probably just tell the wife to pick up certain ones While I am away

So we'll find out if the Megatron = Tanker truck is true.....

Im fairly confident that the toyline will be great. TF1 = a barely decent line with a few gems ROTF = a very good line with a few duds DOTM = ???, but given that trend I would think we'll see some excellent engineering and movie accuracy on Hasbro's part. Thats not to say that the charact... read more

Im thinking this DOTM toyline will be better then ROTF. Look at the quality of the toys and engineering since just then. Its improved ten fold (imo) and i believe we will be relatively happy with the DOTM movie and toyline. Im actually excited for it! But not as much as i am for TF: Prime toys a... read more

Classics Bee! AWESOME! I cant wait to get that guy again since I gave away my other one. Glad he'll be getting another release so I wont have to drop $30 for one. That release date for DOTM is offly convenient. My last car payment is literally the day before.

In a keynote at MIP Junior 2015, Hasbro's Stephen Davis touched on many topics related to the company's media franchises. In the process of answering questions, he revealed that the recently concluded writers room did not just plan Transformers 5, but that they worked to plot Transformers movies for the next ten years, which he suggests will take the property through an eighth film. He also specifically mentions Michael Bay's involvement once again, to no one's particular surprise. Video of the event has been posted to Youtube, so click through to have a look!
Today Deadline is reporting that TJ Fixman, known perhaps best to this audience For his contributions to the Ratchet & Clank series, has been hired in to Hasbro Studios as a creative consultant. Fixman's role will be to work with the existing media producers to help develop the fiction and media sides of the major brands, including Transformers. It sounds like Hasbro Studios is making a serious effort to up their media game, and only time will tell what influence will be seen from this latest addition.
Thanks to Genmon Photo Vault on Facebook, we have some nice photos of the Platinum G1 Dinobots. These are the Generations Series AOE Dinobots in classic colors and with G1-based robot heads, which for better or worse are probably the nearest we're going to get to true Classics Dinobots anywhere in the foreseeable future. Fortunately on that front, these come off looking quite nice with these decos and their retooling. Click through to check out the photos!
Hold up before you sign that check and buy a used car, because there's a statue of a robot you may want to think about first! Prime 1 Studio has posted an extensive image gallery of their elaborate Museum Masterline Transformers Galvatron statue, and it looks pretty impressive! (As it should for an SRP of $1,899 USD!) The Exclusive edition - limited to 888 pieces where the Standard run is 1,000 - includes Megatron's severed head. Keep reading to see!
In a message posted just a short time ago to michaelbay.com and his own Twitter account, Michael Bay states that as of right now he has not officially joined the production of the next Transformers movie. In the very brief and to-the-point statement, Bay notes that he has taken at least one meeting already and that things are being discussed. However, given Bay's track record, we don't expect to see Transformers 5 with someone else ultimately in the director's chair. Stay tuned here for more updates!
