OP looks interesting... classic design, but with a slightly more elongated silhouette. A bit surprising, because I was expecting them to pretty much refer to the more recent G1-style Primes as a model (Hybrid OP, Robotmasters OP and MP OP).

Interesting that he has a Gundam-style gun-shield...

Megatron on the other hand... I'm kind of disappointed. Considering that this line is supposedly a G1 homage series, this figure really doesn't seem to look much of anything like G1 Megatron!

Sure, he's a gun, and his transformation is similar... but the basic forms of the robot really don't resemble any of the traditional G1 Megs design aspects. From the look of it, perhaps the head, the presence of the scope/cannon, and (hopefully) the colour scheme, and that's the best it will get. Hrm.

I would have preferred a Megs that -looks- classic, even if he just turns into a tank. Something really along the lines of the WW Megs, or the new Infiltration version of Megatron.

Hard to make these out completely with the 3rd pass B&W photos. Looks interesting so far though

Even though these are just b/w pictures Prime looks great! Just hope they didn't make him neon green or something. ;)

Megatron is a little unusual, but cool enough! Looks like they managed to keep the arm cannon intact, and now he has a... jet pack, what is that? Looks like he'll be retaining most of his transformation, not bad!

I can feel my bank account taking a hit cause i seriously doubt we'll be seeing them on U.S. Shores.

They're from Hasbro, not Takara (yet) so your wallet will be just fine.

I think Megatron is a shellformer :(

Shell as in his entire body tucks inside the gun mode like Chromia/Thunderblast? Nope, even in these blurry pics you can make out some of his features. His body seems to be the only parts partially enclosed in the gun, his arms appear to make up the top of the gun (that black part with the white lines) which holds the scope, one leg makes up the pistol grip, while the other leg forms the grip across the bottom that extends to the front of the gun. The parts that resemble a shell only make up the sides of the gun to help give it a more seamless look, Megatron's main body will make up most the guns bulk.

OK, less like Chromia and more like Energon Mirage, who looked like a really cool robot that just happened to be dragging two halves of a boat around on his hips.

Isn't Voyager Prime supposed to come with the Trailer?

This is what the original rumor mentioned.

They look promising. They look like they will be poseable. I hope they are of high build quality and that their hands are poseable, at least like what we get in Alternators.

They do look very promising but I was surprise to see Megatron as a gun, isn't Hasbro worried that Megatron would not end up on store shelves because of laws in the US against toy guns?

Re: Transformers Classics Optimus Prime & Megatron (Score: 1)

The laws against toy guns are pretty minimal. They can be as realistic looking as you want, they just need to have a bright orange cap over the barrel so that it isn't mistaken for a real gun. Fantasy guns are even less of a hassle, and they already released that Optimus Prime blaster back in Energon so there's really no problem here, they just didn't want to do it again.

And yes, there is a second version of Optimus coming that will include a trailer.

Prime looks too blocky...but I think if I see him with the trailer I might like it.

Megatron's alt mode reminds me of the Judge's Side Arm...from Judge Dredd. A huge hand gun capable of firing different ammo types....heck it even looks like a police or viglante's gun (anyone notice a shield ensignia on his alt mode?)

I need to see some better images before I make my call, but I do like what I see so far. I like Megatron being a gun again and all, but I was kinda hoping for a G1 inspired Megatron with a tank alt mode. Just seems to make more sense to me, but I do like the gun mode too (don't get me wrong!).

Astrotrain looks WAY better than these 2.

Don't like the Nerf gun alt mode on Megatron though. It might look better in the final shot, but like all these new 'updated' figures it will feel just like a knockoff than a true homage to the original.

Not to impressed. What the hell is hanging off Primes arms. If this is supposed to be for the anniversary of the movie shouldnt they look the way they did in the movie. Megatron sucks! If they look this bad in these pictures i'd hate to see the rest of them. Of course, I'm sure I will still buy them.

Optimus looks good, and if he's mega/voyager sized that would be great.

From which line is this? A new line? They are making lots of new lines these days, probably won't see any of them here in Holland.

Good to see Megatron as a gun again, bit shame that the chest isn't a grey flat surface like the original. But I'm always happy to see a new megatron toy with the G1 head.

Can't wait to see more pictures.
Does anybody have any idea what's coming after Cybertron? I think The Movie toys.

These are what's coming after Cybertron. There's another year-long gap left to fill before the movie comes out.
