Transformers Generation 1 - The Complete First Season - 25th Anniversary Edition
Primus - Thursday, March 05, 2009

For those of you waiting for the Generation 1 cartoons to return, this could be your day. WalMart.com has posted a product listing for the "DVD: Transformers: The Complete First Season - 25th Anniversary Edition: More Than Meets The Eye, The (Full Frame)" DVD set on their web site. Additionally, the product descrption is as follows:
During the 1980s, one cartoon series ruled the airwaves..."The Transformers". This is the complete first season that launched "The Transformers" entertainment franchise. It ran beginning in 1984 and introduced audiences to "The Transformers", sentient robotic beings from Cybertron who crash land on Earth in search of Energon and must fight between two factions, Autobots and Decepticons. I have all of the Rhino seasons, so unless this set is offering anything really new & updated, I'll pass!

Has anyone else noticed that the cover art of the DVD set is wrong/backwards. For as long as I've seen Optimus Prime shout his blaster in the movie and three-ish seasons of the TV series he's always shot it with this right hand, not left as shown in art. Plus Megatron's Fusion Cannon w... read more

I would LOVE to have RID show up on DVD. That is one of the only series that I am missing. I have the Rhinblow version of G1, so I doubt I'll be able to justify picking this one up. Still, as others have said, it is cool for those that missed it.

Willing to bet they're gonna go the Energon/Cybertron route "As Seen On TV" and thats about it. Once Sony gave up on the releases, I flushed all hopes of further remastering or features :tfemo Still I hope the hype gets someone out there to put out a dubbed BW 2&NEO(then I'l... read more

I have the Rhino DVDs. I was contemplating selling them though as they seem to fetch a high price and get a cheaper import set. If it's a good deal and the complete series, I may entertain these. If not, back to plan A.

Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Keep reading to see!
Hobby Lobby has had a few waves now of different kinds of Transformers art stamped in to sheet metal. A new offering in this line has just recently hit, bringing some new choices. We found today two pieces featuring G1 Optimus, and Bumblebee, represented in the design of the 2006 Classics toy, at Hobby Lobby. They were priced at $18.99 each, which may seem a touch steep for something the size of perhaps a small calendar. But we can't deny the art on them look really sharp. Click through for images of both!
D3+Transformers Racing Unveils New Race Car for 2018 Competition at Petit Le Mans! The brightly colored red, black and white race car with the large Transformers Autobot shield on the nose was impressive at the highly attended press conference at the final race of the IMSA 2017 season. Read on for more info!
The @miiakira2017 Twitter account continues to share G1 design work! Today, we've got some sketches for Octane, described here in a very British way as a "Tank Lorry"; artwork for a pair of folding launcher bays designed in the Diaclone Car Robots days, and what are described as figure studies for "erasers," but don't seem to match either the Decoys or the G1 erasers that were produced - at least the US ones. The younger generation needs Transformers as well. If you want your children to have Transformers that are slightly more involved than Rescue Bots, then this is the way to go.
