Transformers on Blu-ray; 2 New Single Disc Promos

By bwbm on Wednesday, May 28, 2008

With so much hype surrounding the impending filming of "Transformers 2," we have learned that "Transformers," the one that started it all, does not want to be lost in the lime light. Our sister-site ENewsI is reporting that "Transformers" will be receiving three new DVD releases come September 2, 2008.

First, a treat for you Blu-ray fans out there who probably felt cheated when you heard that the movie would cross the next-generation DVD barrier exclusively on HD-DVD. But since the demise of that format, Paramount has shifted its allegiances the only way it could go. The details are below.
    Transformers Special Edition (2-Disc) Blu-Ray

    Street Date: September 2, 2008

Actors: Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Bernie Mac, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rachael Taylor, Anthony Anderson, Jon Voight, John Turturro, Michael O'Neill, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Amaury Nolasco, Peter Cullen, Hugo Weaving, Mark Ryan, Jess Harnell, Robert Foxworth,

    Director: Michael Bay

    Genre: Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi

Synopsis: From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes a thrilling battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. When their epic struggle comes to Earth, all that stands between the Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). Unaware that he is mankind’s last chance for survival, Sam and Bumblebee, his robot disguised as a car, are in a heart-pounding race against an enemy unlike anything anyone has seen before. It’s the incredible, breath-taking film spectacular that USA Today says “will appeal to the kid in all of us.”

    PRODUCT INFO:

Sweet, yet another version to own. All I wanna say is..... WTF is up with this 2 disc crap, SONY brags about how much space a BR disc can hold and yet I still see these 2-pack 3-pack BluRay dvds. If I wanted to buy a trilogy (SM, Bourne, M:I, or Matrix) on BR, I would prefer it to be all on one disc... read more

I take issue with referring to the 2007 movie as "the one that started it all".
