Transformers Online China MMO Based on Prime, 1st Looks at Optimus & Megatron

Transformers Online, the China-only massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), will be based on the Transformers Prime series.

In a press release from NetDragon Websoft, the developer behind the PC-based video game, the company showed off two renders of Optimus Prime and one of Megatron.

This game should not be confused with the MMO that is currently being developed by Jagex, Inc for North America, Latin America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia markets. That game is slated for a 2012 release.

The two promotional banners are for a contest from NetDragon for Weibo followers to win a mysterious retro edition Optimus Prime or Transformers Dark of the Moon figures.

The contest ended on May 14th.

There is not a release date available for Transformers Online, but the game is scheduled for release sometime in 2011.
