Universe Acid Storm and Galvatron, Found at TRU

After hearing a TRU in the area got in Universe Ultra figs, I decided to check my TRU (North Riverside IL) and I found them along with deluxe Acid Storm and Galvatron. Just giving you all the heads up that they're out there. See the proof.

YES, i too found Galvatron and Acid at TRU, wonder how common they are. Also I at walmart last night 9/10/08. They had just gotten a shipment of walmart exclusives...simply look like repaints, one of them is called BIG DADDY, amusing. Probably wont get these they look pretty bad, but all the same they are there!!!! watch for them.

I highly recommend both but galvy more. Acidstorm is wesome his colors make him better than anyother seeker even though it says he is in a group called the rain makers. Galvatron is SWEET!!!!! He sucks at standing though...... and his missle fires easily but he is easy transformation and I just love both of his modes... PICK THEM UP IF U SEE THEM!!!!!!! GAlvatron is VERY loose though...

OH and here is my youtube acc. I might start reviews soon. http://www.youtube.com/user/transformersfan100

i just got universe Galvatron and Acidstorm from tru and I think right now each truck only has enough of them for 1 store at a time because all the trus in my area get the same truck and only the tru that got the shipment first got them.

Well at the very least Universe Galvatron proves the character is on their mind.

I'd like to think that Hasbro wouldn't just be looking at the sales of this figure to solely determine the demand for new mold Galvatrons - that would just be silly IMO.

They should be looking at other factors, like how we do want a new mold Galvatron, but this mold just isn't that great.

You can't just put out a crappy mold and then go "eh, we won't be doing that character anymore. He didn't sell well the last time." TUNNEL VISION'D

My only gripe with Energon Megatron is that the transformation is to simple if not automated.

It would have been cool too if all the back kibble did more than just hang there.

All of which is true for Animated Leader Megatron, but he seems to do alright. Maybe Energon Megs just needs some swords? The transformation layout on both is incredibly similar (not that this is a bag thing, if it works, it works).

I agree with LM. They should have taken the Ultra/Voyager sized TRU Megatron and painted him in a Galvatron colour scheme. We got something similar with the larger version during Energon, but the larger version of the mould is just too big. We never got a proper Galvatron repaint of the smaller (and better, IMO) version (the TT version was awful).

....I like the idea of a new Galvatron. I hope this tank is a step towards something truely awesome in the way of Galvatron being developed. Maybe a Leader Class or dare I dream MasterPiece that pays a true homage to the origional.

I kind of agree with this logic. This new Galvatron, despite being a tad disappointing, at least proves that the Hasbro team is thinking about the character. If the Universe version sells well enough, maybe we'll get more versions, whether it be a repaint of the smaller Energon Megatron figure, or an entirely new mould.

JMO, but no Leader or MPs. I would prefer a new Galvatron to be a Voyager, an Ultra at the most. Leader and MP is just to big for my combined RiD/UT/Classics/Universe collection, where the largest figures are Ultras.

Still a great figure, but I like the idea of a new Galvatron. I hope this tank is a step towards something truely awesome in the way of Galvatron being developed. Maybe a Leader Class or dare I dream MasterPiece that pays a true homage to the origional.

Galvy seems to be one of those TFers who needs a spacey alt mode. An Earth tank with a laser cannon doesn't cut it. Though I don't think I would have liked his G1 alt mode either. Space pencil sharpener FTL.

I would have liked to seem them revisit Energon's idea of Galvatron as a space cruiser. That idea always seemed to have had potential to me.

I agree with these words. Energon (Mega/Galva)tron's alt mode was a big "whoa, of course" to me when I first saw it. And it does keep his alt mode in the "weird space-y thing" domain.

It is kind of weird how Classics Hot Rod and now Universe Cyclonus have both referenced their original alt modes, but Galvatron didn't at all.

Honestly? I would have loved a Galvatron repaint of the TRU two-pack Energon Megatron instead. And they could have done it because it wouldn't have been another Voyager-sized tank. :tflaugh :roll
