Universe Blaster & Heavy Load Profiles & Pics

By News_Staff on Thursday, July 17, 2008

Universe Autobot Blaster Classic Series:

Working alongside his friend Perceptor, Autobot Blaster has organized a series of resistance cells to fight against even more organized Decepticon attack squads. He is the communications & data expert, maintaining detailed internal records of all personnel & mission reports. In vehicle mode, he can travel faster than light speed to hand-deliver orders of information, or emit high-speed encoded radio-bursts up to 20,000 miles. Together with Flashback, he is also a powerful warrior. Both partners are always more than ready for a fight.

Note: On the box, his partner is Blockrock not Flashback. Nice going Hasbro.

Universe Decepticon Heavy Load Classic Series:

Back on Cybertron, before the war, Decepticon Heavy Load was a brilliant chemist & engineer, specializing in Optimizing fuel mixtures to increase the energy efficiency of all mechanoid life. Repeated exposure to toxic chemicals over hundreds of years slowly degraded his cognitive systems, turning him into someone none of his friends recognized. As his brain module rotted, he grew more withdrawn, & began to focus more on his failed experiments - the ones that poisoned his test subjects. Now, he develops poisons & corrosive bombs for whichever Decepticon gangs can pay his fees, & continues his experiments on helpless Autobot captives.

BOTH figures are available NOW at Target off of Capitol Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina. They also have a good selection of Animated figs, including the really big Op Prime too. I bought Blaster and he is a nice repaint, with good detailing (in fact, there seems to be only 2 or three things they... read more

Meh, I'd rather go buy the original Cybertron Soundwave.

I thought the same thing about Energon DreadWing, and Armada StarScream. Surely a $15 bot's head would fit a $20 figures body. NOPE, now I'm looking to basic and deluxe for a fine replacement for that crappy smile.

Idk i never got the cement breaths mold, but i do like it. So maybe i will get him but i DEFINITELY WILL NOT get another Soundwave Cybertron mold. I dont even much care for the 1st one to be honest. I DO however want all the Universe Ultra's available. Which are new molds and may get Heavy Load ... read more

I was thinking that G1 Blaster's head just might fit onto the Universe version's body. I'll have to give it a try....

Already own both from Cybertron. Definite pass. Great for those who want and don't have the molds though.

Pass on both of these. Didn't care for the cement truck the first time around, and I don't wanna see Blaster fall the way of Magnus and CliffJumper being just another repaint. I know they shared the same Alt Mode, but thats about it. Both figures where very different. Slapping a coat of ora... read more
