Universe Deluxe - Wave 06 - Hot Shot and Ratchet

By Darth Caine on Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Thanks to BBTS, we have new images and profiles on Universe Deluxe: Wave 06: Hot Shot and the previously shown Universe Deluxe: Wave 06: Ratchet. Hit the Read More below for all the background on these 25th Universe action figures coming out in March 2009.

Universe Deluxe - Wave 06 - Hot Shot

Universe Deluxe: Wave 06: Hot Shot transforms from a yellow sports car into a notably more elaborate version of the Armada character and is partnered with an equally elaborate version of Hot Shot’s Mini-Con side kick Jolt. The speed hungry Jolt transforms into a helicopter but is not geared to activate any hidden features. Hot Shot’s youth and heroic nature typically serve to propel him headlong into virtually any situation, regardless of any threat of danger. This recklessness sometimes brings to light Hot Shot’s leadership potential, although it also tends to underscore Hot Shot’s comparative lack of experience.

Universe Deluxe - Wave 06 - Ratchet

Universe Deluxe: Wave 06: Ratchet utilizes the Classics Iron Hide mold with a primarily red and white color scheme. Serving the Autobot cause as resident Chief Medical Officer, Ratchet is widely regarded as the best tool-and-die man on Cybertron. His work bay provides him with a staging ground in which he can make anything from a pin to a missile. Though Ratchet is occasionally given to a frivolous demeanor, and will sometimes allow his apparently boisterous night life encroach on his otherwise studious work ethic, he’s a renowned, resourceful medic armed with an onboard tool kit that includes laser scalpels, arc welders, electron microscopes, circuit sensors and fluid dispensers.

seems to be a love/hate thing here with these two. I actually like the new Hotshot. This to me seems to be what people were thinking of when we'd first seen the production art for Armada but were shafted by Go-bots. I'll have to wait to see unshopped pictures of him as well. it looks like th... read more

Be careful what you thank God for, that fat black lesbian in the sky has a twisted sense of humor!

Hot Shot looks great and is a must-buy. Ratchet is not. My Ironhide is split in two pieces at the waist and I can't get him to stay together.

Hotshot looked great as a prototype, but he looks markedly less so with paint. I'll wait 'til I see actual pictures, as sometimes Hasbro's Photoshopping makes figures look than they do in person. Ratchet looks great, but so did Ironhide in the promo pics. Now that I have him sitting o... read more

well hotshot doesn't look like a go-bot anymore...THAT should have been the one we got with Armada (with features of course). If it's one of those days that I have an extra ten bucks I may get him. I will have to get ratchet though. Doing the whole Universe next to original thing on my displ... read more

You know, theres a hand full of figures that they just won't put to bed and they keep making crappy figures for... Well, it's great to see Jolt again with a redeeming mold from that Cybertron thing.
