War for Cybertron
Figures
Unknown Transformers Action Figure Molds - Deluxe Drift?

By Primus on Saturday, October 31, 2009

GenZhao of KOToys have posted some new images of Transformers that are described as "prototypes of toys in development."

Without much more information on what the figures are, there's much to speculate about. The figures appear to be deluxe class figurs. The designs are Cybertronian in nature with exotic stylings that don't echo any production cars we know of. Likewise, they do not appear to be homages to any Generation 1 character designs on first look.

This figure is somewhat reminiscent of the Drift character with the rear spoilers giving us some good queues that this may be more pumped up version in toy form.

Only time will tell. It is way too early to be making Transformers 3 toys so we're most likely looking at a new line or extension of an existing one. Could these be new Universe Action figures. Or toys for the new transformers link Hasbro hinted at recently. What do you think they are?

Here is a tidbit... the Drift in the photos is a power core combiner, you can see the power master type gimmick on his hood. Also @deceptikhan, if you think about it pre-earth armada prime looked alot like the prime from the new game. It kinda makes me wonder if the new game prime was not based on ... read more

Armada Prime b4 he arrived on earth looked like Generation One prime WITH Windows. Dont you remember? He looked of all kinds of awesome! And my theory of windows are they look out them to see, their optics are right behind them when in alt mode, and all beings need visual, correct?

Thats a pretty good idea, never really thought about how they see in altmode. At least this one is just two windows instead of the slighty ridiculous cockpit canopy of the war within version.

heres the way I see windows of all sorts on TFs, especialy prearth, they're all part of thier sensor array. Think about it. in robot mode they have eyes and what not, but what about in alt? The ironic part with this figure is that the windows seem to get covored up in alt. However then it'... read more

They better release that megatron. Prime looks good, a nice sucessor to titanium but again-why does the pre-earth mode have windows? I'm sick of the "tradition" of prime with window chest, espicially b4 he came to earth. Armada prime did just fine without em.

Oh yeah, well lets not forget that they also said by 2005 we'd all dress like this! (link)

Pure speculation but they could be from the same line. the game trailer does say before contact with earth after all. The car might be one of the alt forms adopted on earth. That is of course if this game ties in to the next produced cartoon. That truck is definitely the prime from the upcoming ga... read more

well well well, so it turns out that its a Cybertron mode prime from the upcoming video game. that raises more questions for the red car prototype, like is it from the game? is the new toyline and cartoon tied to the same universe as the game as well?

Add in the art always takes some liberties...

*thread comes back from the dead* They scale down transformations for smaller figures, so the artwork could very well match the grey figure with a false bot chest in toy. Forgot about this thread.
