Updated: Megan Fox Out for Transformers 3 & New Love Interest for Sam Witwicky?
bwbm - Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Updated: Ms. Fox says she it was her decision to leave Transformers 3, reports People, citing spokespeople for the actress. "She wishes the franchise the best."

Original Post:

According to Deadline Hollywood, citing an insider, Paramount Pictures has decided not to pick up the option on Megan Fox's contract for Transformers 3 and will begin to search for a new female lead immediately.

The gossip website reports that the decision was "ultimately" Director Michael Bay's decision.

Could Megan Fox be ousted by Michael Bay in favor of a new girl for Shia?

The same insider says that as Mr. Bay and Ehren Krueger are finishing up the script for the third installment of the giant robot franchise, "giving Shia [LaBeouf] a new love interest makes more sense for the story."

Here are two things that run counter to this new rumor:

First, Mr. Bay claimed last November that he won't be killing off Ms. Fox in the third film , although he has been known to lie.

Mr. Bay made these comments to calm the masses over Ms. Fox's comments comparing Mr. Bay to Hitler as well as criticizing his directorial skills.

Second and most recently, Ms. Fox was spotted in Los Angeles along with a Chevrolet Camaro all decorated like Bumblebee.

What do you think this all means? Will Mikaela Banes be taken out in the third film? Or will the character simply just go away?

still don't change the fact that she's hot. It's funny how presumtious and honestly arogant the haters are coming off as in these threads about pretty girls. If anything your exceeding the same type of traits your complaining about Rachael Taylor is a very pretty talented actress, a... read more

These people don't even have a solid script yet, I'm sure re-shooting is commonplace.

Agreed, pedantry aside, she played an uppity bitch who spoke without a damn bit of respect or cognition of the social situation in her voice. That would have been fine, considering that she was supposed to be a "nerd," except I also got an extreme feminist "I'm better than these ... read more

Oh my god, Im going to start a petition to get Michael Bay shot in the head. How fucking STUPID can you be!? Remember when he bitched about all the critics not liking ROTF and that no one takes his movies seriously. Its because he is so damn retarded! Its like he just hires random pretty pe... read more

Well, everyone else has voiced their opinion on Ms. Fox's departure, amongst other things, so I may as well chime in while it is still a current issue... Yeah, it's rant-time

Well the movie is like 95% eye candy anyways, so an actress with looks but no talent seems about right.

Happy Weibo Leak Day, I guess? The same Weibo source that brought us the image of the box back panel now has posted images of the upcoming Movie Series Blackout and its accessory Scorponok! The figure is quite impressive looking, and as we learned from the packaging already, boasts a 46-step transformation. Keep reading to see!
Next up on the leaks from Weibo users this morning, "tf-factory" has also dropped package-back images of Leader Brawl and Megatron from the upcoming movie line! ...but, they've been marked through. Either someone's being an extra-clever leaker, or Hasbro has gone very effectively low-tech in their leak prevention efforts! But if you'd like an unobstructed view of an as-yet unreleased figure we've also mirrored images of Authentics Grimlock here. Keep reading!
A user on Weibo has shared out a partial image of the back of box for an upcoming Blackout toy. What is presumed to be a Leader Class figure from the recently-named 'Studio Series' lineup as revealed via Toys R Us inventory data can be seen (in typical CG render style) in both robot and vehicle modes, and includes a small scorpion mode Scorponok partner figure just as the original Voyager Class Blackout did way back in the 2007 movie line. Little specifics can be discerned, but we do get to see the call-out for a 46 step transformation process, to which we can say only: Yikes! Click through to view the full size image.
The 4K UHD release the first four Transformers films: TRANSFORMERS, TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON and TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION, which will be released on December 5th (TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT is available now on 4K UHD). All releases come in a 3-disc 4K UHD/Blu-ray Combo Pack with Digital copy.
A piece on Variety earlier this week reveals that Huahua Media out of China and Paramount Pictures are ending what was supposed to be a multi-year investment deal that would see the Chinese company contribute financing to numerous film productions. If this sounds vaguely familiar, it should. In August, Paramount execs flew to China to smooth things over after a string of movies - most recent at the time being Transformers: The Last Knight - failed to perform to expectations. Paramount says they'll pursue financing partnerships elsewhere - including with Hasbro - but on the whole it's probably still not good news at all. Keep reading for more details!
