Thanks to TonTon Review on Youtube, we have our first video review of Earthrise Optimus Prime. This main thing we get out of this is confirmation of what the production deco looks like, and the blue hands are here to stay! They're shown to share a glossy, metallic finish with the back half of the robot's head, which suggests either that both of these elements had to end up on a separate, different blue plastic tree together for reasons we cannot currently fathom, or it means both elements ended up on a different color sprue and have been comprehensively painted. Either way though, if grey hands had you up in arms, you can finally relax again.
The most interesting thing to see is the process of transformation, which includes some surprising engineering tricks for the torso. The chest windows may seem to stick out a little far over the abdomen, but they have reason to do so, and it's pretty slick looking. And of course we have a series of side by side comparisons, including the likes of MP-10, Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime, and Siege Ironhide and Mirage.
On average, we seem to see coverage from TonTon's channel about a month before a toy first becomes available at retail, so while Earthrise wave 1 has been sale-dated for March 1, it's certainly feeling like we'll see Optimus quite a bit sooner.
