UPDATED - we now have a clearer look at the Bruticus image from @chromeless, to go along with the original Combaticon group shot from Wonderfest by Twitter user @gadepon. The source images are still not the greatest, but some added detail can be seen versus the even tinier and "DO NOT COPY" stamped retailer images that recently went out. In particular, Swindle and Vortex both show the split-color combiner plugs seen on Zombie War Breakdown from the Grand Galvatron set, in order to help the body colors be a little more source accurate. Click through and have a look!
Unfortunately it looks like we haven't seen the last of the grey Bruticus sample just yet. The TakaraTomy booth at Wonderfest is using that as their display piece, but all isn't lost. From the display, Twitter user @chromeless has gotten some good close up shots of Blast Off from all sides, giving us a nicely detailed look at this new figure. Also shown is the new rotor piece for Vortex and how it works in robot and combined forms. Keep reading to see it all!
Hisashi Yuki has tweeted out a new look at Unite Warriors Bruticus, giving one of the clearest views so far of the TakaraTomy exclusive edition of the combiner with shuttle Blast Off. However, what's worth note here isn't the photo itself so much, it's the message going along with it. In the accompanying tweet, Yuki notes that Bruticus should be on display at the TakaraTomy booth at Wonderfest on Sunday, which means we're likely to get out first proper looks at the full color Japanese version Combaticons as early as Saturday night, relative to US time. Keep reading to see the black and white photo.
Site sponsor Robotkingdom has posted a pair of new photos to their preorder page for Unite Warriors Bruticus - the first color photos of TakaraTomy's version so far! The photos aren't particularly large or high-quality, but a few things are evident - such as Vortex not having bright yellow missiles on his forearms. Keep reading to have a look!
Adam Pawlus of 16bit.com has posted a confirmation that the version of Onslaught in the Wave 2 Voyager case with Sky Lynx is unchanged from the Wave 1 version, and does not have the animation-accurate Bruticus parts that were anticipated to be on the second release. Whether we get the intended running change or not down the road is unknown - but don't go buying a second Onslaught just yet expecting the alternate colors. Keep reading for the confirmation tweet!
