Wal-Mart Replacing Old Transformers Figures w/ New Ones?

Wal-Mart is looking to pull old Transformers figures off the shelf and replace the empty space with new figures, among them Transformers Animated and Universe, reports Community member "all are dead."

He writes on the message board that "[a Wal-Mart toys department employee in the Southwestern Ohio area] said old toys are coming off the shelves within the week and new ones on."

If this is true nationwide, be sure to check our your local Wal-Mart for some brand-spankin' new toys you've been looking for!

My Walmart's f*cking retarded.

Finally they've got to restocking/adjust aisles and thought they've got space set aside for everything animated they are still restocking movie toys. They restocked three rows of last wave movie deluxes. WTF? (Stealth Bumblebee, Jungle Bone Crusher, Salvage, Landmine, Stockade, as well as movie leader premiums. :brickwall It's been a year and I've yet to even once seen anything in the clearence aisle.

Hopefully this also means TFA will start flooding in as well as Universe deluxes.

Now if only I wern't poor as a church mouse.

And you could tell that animated was there from the Lugnut and 10 Oilslicks (nothing else hmph!)

Most of the peg-warming Lockdowns and Black Arachnias have vanished to be replaced by Oil Slick and Snarl around here (that Snarl seems to peg-warm surprises me, I thought he'd be more popular).

What is this the sighting blog? :P I went to TWO Walmarts yesterday, a Kay Bee, and a Toys R Us. The walmart had nilch to none in the 1st one, the second had ONLY Oilslicks and Ben Ten. I bought an Oil Slick with my $5 off coupon from ssome shmuck that couldnt add there. So i only paid $5 bucks for him! And you could tell that animated was there from the Lugnut and 10 Oilslicks (nothing else hmph!) The Toys R Us had alot but only the RO&C Prime was the only thing i didnt have yet. So i bought that and some Clone Wars from the upcomming cartoon/CGI thingamabob. Oh & got the coolest TF Universe (new) Backpack!~ It has a hologram of G1 Prime with an autobot wallet! Hit up JCPennnys to grab one at 29.99 actual retail, or maybe you can pay 14.99 like i did. It could be a whole sale countywide.

the modular resets were just added to the system a week or so ago and department managers have to wait until that time to reset the aisles.also clearence prices are dropping into the system at the same time, and it takes a while to work through them.and some stores may have things on clearence and others not because the time frame on when the markdowns comes in depends on the department's markdown budget for the month and quarter.

My local Wal-mart just revamped the Hasbro aisle, and while the majority of the TF section is is dedicated to Animated and Universe, there are still four pegs for movie deluxes. :argh

They also restocked new voyagers from Animiated, but it was just Megatron and Bulkhead. DOUBLE :argh!!!!

So whatever happened to doing just a blow out clearance sale!?!

Outside of around the holidays, and late spring before a new line appears, Transformers rarely go on sale, and I've noticed that only exclusives get a clearance mark down.

Knock a buck or two off the price of the shelf warmers and I bet they'd move. That makes more sense to me than just pulling them down. Collectors love hearing sale. Mom and Dad more often than not are looking for a Transformer with no specific one in mind so chances are they won't care if it's new or not, they'll grab the cheaper one.

I think in my neck of the woods, they do clearance them; however, they fly off the shelves so fast that it's easy to miss them and think they've been pulled.

Could they be pulling them to send back and create those 2 packs that we see occasionally through the year?

I'm pretty sure that Hasbro makes those with stock remaining in their warehouses.

From the reports of people who work the big box stores, my understanding is that merchandise pulled from store shelves is usually tossed in the trash or destroyed.

Leaders are such shelf warmers here. Maybe everyone is broke like me?

Same here, actually. After the initial Movie Leaders sold out the size class has done nothing but shelf warm.

Strangely enough, most of the WalMarts/Targets around here have downsized or eliminated the movie stuff; however, the leaders are still there (I've been hovering over the premium versions of OP and Megs, but only if I can get them on clearance).

I just called walmart and I talked to a guy in toys and he said no to blizwing, but he said old toys are coming off the shelves within the week and new ones on like blitzwing and i hope ultra magnus and the wave 4 deluxes.

That's because Walmarts nationwide are in the middle of the fall toy resets. It happens EVERY year at this time: last year's toys/failed toys get pulled from shelves, new revisions and toylines are added.

Mine redid action figures right before Clone Wars launched, and have already sold out of some 5 cases of Universe deluxes. And at least 8-10 cases of Animated deluxes.

I sure hope I'll see Universe Galvatron or leader Magnus. But all stores are different so you never know.
