War for Cybertron DLC Leaked!

By bwbm on Friday, July 02, 2010

Despite High Moon Studios' Game Director Matt Tieger saying during BotCon 2010 that he was not ready to say anything about Transformers: War for Cybertron downloadable content, it seems that the XBox Live Marketplace is ready.

On the website listing on the video game page, the site reveals that the first downloadable content, or DLC, will be a map and character pack #1.

The release date is invalid as 01/01/0001.

The game will feature two new maps in multiplayer combat, Havoc and Fortress.

Escalation will get two maps as well, including District in fending off Autobots, and Forsaken, for Decepticons.

The game will also get access to five new characters, several which are previously store-exclusive pre-orders, including Demolisher, Shockwave, and Jazz. The other characters include Scattorshot and Onslaught.

You will also gain access to their chassis for us in Escalation modes!

Below is the full information:
Become the ultimate weapon and wage war in four new maps – engage in multiplayer combat in HAVOC and FORTRESS or fend off waves of Autobots in DISTRICT, and Decepticons in FORSAKEN, two new Escalation mode maps. Also gain access to 5 characters and their chassis for use in Escalation mode and Multiplayer character creation; SCATTERSHOT, ONSLAUGHT, DEMOLISHOR, SHOCKWAVE and JAZZ are ready for battle. Fight to the end in the war that started it all! There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

Optimus Prime is one of the choices for Leader class. Megatron is not a leader class. His chassis is that of one of the Decepeticon soldiers. It might sound weird but for multiplayer, the chassis' are grouped based on what the robot transforms into. Trucks are Leaders, Tanks are Soldier, etc... read more

So wait you can't use the Prime or Megs chassis?
3:55 am

Yeah you have 3 choices in Autobot chassis' for Leader class, but only 1 for the Decepticon side. That only choice is Soundwave so thats why everyone who plays for the Cons looks like an army of Soundwaves when they all pick leader. That'll change with the dlc (which will be Onslaught for Co... read more

So it's not Soundwave specifically then. The only character I created so far is leader class w/ the medic frame. He looks kinda like a dark blue Ratchet.

The Leader class is incredibly powerful, with high health, decent footspeed and some of the best weapons in the game. In one-on-one they are only as good as the people playing them, but in cohesive groups they are like wrecking machines of destruction.

I want more fembots, I want my squads to have only fembots in..

Yeah, I did some Deathmatches and it was stupid with Soundwaves. What's so special about him?
12:05 pm

Someone actually asked about that at Botcon. Its just too difficult to include triplechangers as they would be a whole different ball game from a controls and mechanics standpoint. Plus with 4 classes that only have the traditional 2 alternate modes, having some triplechangers in multiplayer would d... read more

I would love to see Blitzwing! Wouldn't a Triple Changer be awesome to have? Heavy artillery on the ground as tank mode, then you can take to the sky to follow up with an aerial attack!

This week on Radio Free Cybertron we have the rundown from Toy Fair 2014, onsite interviews with Activision and Hasbro at Toy Fair 2014, this week in History, the week's news, comic news from Aimee and the entire 23 minute presentation from Hasbro at Toy Fair 2014.

Activision Publishing, Inc. and Hasbro today released two new video game bundles that are more than meets the eye: TRANSFORMERS: ULTIMATE BATTLE EDITION for Nintendo’s Wii system and TRANSFORMERS: ULTIMATE AUTOBOTS EDITION for the Nintendo DS™ hand-held system. Both titles combine two full games from the epic, galactic saga between the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS into one package loaded with adventure and value for this holiday season.
So, it seems lately that there's always something I don't like about Optimus prime figures and their paintjobs. Last time it was PRID OPtimus that I had to do something about, and since I've just got my Corbot V war axe in, I decided to finally tackle WFC Optimus. Check out the full makeover list after the jump
For those who are worried that they if they jump into Transformers War for Cybertron multiplayer now will be extremely far behind, have no fear: the multiplayer XP will now multiply by five starting on Monday until forever. This change is in effect for Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, and PC versions only. So if you have been looking to max out all of your classes but have been too lazy to do it with only a 1 to 1 ratio for points, how about 5 to 1?
