Words From Yuki Hisashi. Surprise Project?
By News_Staff on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 @ 05:36:52 PM
To sum up 2005 and what to expect in 2006, Takara toy designer & in charge of Transformers commodities, Yuki Hisashi says the following. Transformers Galaxy Force is the final installment of the Micron trilogy that began with Micron Legends. He apologizes that the Primus figure was not available in retail while Galaxy Force was broadcasting but will safely be available in February in G1 type packaging. What about Arm Bullet, Mole Dive, Blender? While 2006 is the 10th Anniversary of Beasts Wars, the development for their next step is progressing in a "Surprise Project" which details cannot be disclosed at the moment, so please look forward.

They already do that. It's called Binaltech.

We need more answers please...
Great to 'officially' hear that Galaxy Force was indeed part 3 of the same continuity... |
Re: Words From Yuki Hisashi. Surprise Project? (Score: 1) by Whisper on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 @ 04:07:11 AM | Indeed. I find the mention of a "trilogy" being official for GF to be amusing after all the riding Hasbro's taken for doing the exact same thing.
If you really want to think about it a little, though, it makes sense. Think of GF as a Micron/Superlink Beast Era, hundreds, maybe thousands of years after Superlink ended, and it's highly possible that such things could happen exactly the same way and be non-plothole-y. |

It's just a subpar toyline made to keep older fans happy but fails miserbley due to lame-ass repaints and horrible mold designs like *cough* Optimus Prime, Shock-Blast & Prowl. *cough* |
Trilogy Comments (Score: 1) by KamenRiderRodimus on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 @ 07:18:01 AM | I wonder if he might have been citing something more along the lines of a trilogy in the sense of design theme and story concepts, but not necessarily true story continuity.
The story connections aren't quite there in GF as they are in Cybertron.
A lot of Japanese shows will have sequel series where the sequel isn't exactly set in the same universe as the predecessor. It's done to capitalize on the success of the previous series, and also to give the audience something to be familar without the constraints of continuity. At the same time, this technique allows for fresh stories without a lot of set up, since the audience is already familar with the aesthetics. Almost every Kamen Rider series does this and any Sentai fan will recognize the methodology.

Maybe you're just upset because you can't transform them. Binaltech has been a very strong line and has given us what we wanted, realistic cars and good homages. And it will continue to.
Neo G1 on the other hand....I would hope they'd try some new stuff and maybe not make the characters the same old tired alt modes and robots we know of. I already have those figures on my shelf, I don't want a new one with 10 more joints. |

So they made it official (from Takara's side?) It makes more sense that way. Like somebody suggest, maybe GF happens several years int he future, contrary to Super Link/Energon.

What I could grasp for that is that IF these figures are released over there, it may be YEARS int he future. Thought hey could do a Universe/Robotmaster type of line and include them there. No comments on the "Surprise Project" thing. I am avoiding dissapointments. I have to prevent my mind from overthinking and building false expectations! >_< |

Which, if you recall, uses updated versions of the same alt-modes as the G1 chars had, but has modern articulation and detailing. The pics we've seen have been quite kickass. |
