Octopunch could have been a regular Botcon set toy for as lukewarm as its reception was when images of it leaked to the internet a couple months before the convention. Were it not for a fantastic 1988 colorscheme toy to come with it, I bet nobody would have bought a poor Octopunch at all. Funny thing is, if you actually see it in person, and stop to realize that the mold it's using is pretty solid, a level of appeal can develop that just won't convey itself so well in photographs. Fun Publications has also released a clear look at the artwork for Depth Charge, the Transformers Collectors Club incentive figure for next year. This is the same artwork that was shown during the club panel at BotCon 2012 where Fun Publications also announced their subscription service. The figure uses the Transformers Hunt For the Decepticons Terradive mold, and the organizers joked that Depth Charge went on a bit of a diet this go around when compared to his Beast Wars counterpart.

Mr. Kruger co-wrote Transformers Revenge of the Fallen with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) and took over full duties for Transformers Dark of the Moon. The soft-opening of Transformers: The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood has commenced - full opening is May 25, 2012 - and two videos from SoCalAdventures have been posted from the ride. The first one is experiencing the queue system, which, as described yesterday, is engaging and never leaves you bored. The second video is the gem, though, which is a front seat view of the entire ride. Obviously, the ride is in 3D, so you are missing that experience, but if you do not want to be spoiled as to what you will see in the ride, do not watch the second video. However, watching does not appear that it will detract from actually going on the ride, since it seems like this is an amazing experience.

Imagine to your surprise one day you just walk into Walmart in the morning before work and right there is a Cyberverse Legion Evac, the new character made for Transformers The Ride right on the pegs. That is what happened to Peaugh, and he gladly put up a video review of the figure last night. While the Deluxe version of this character is a Universal Studios exclusive, the tinier version of the character is being put on pegs right now in Transformers Prime packaging. Watch the video in the full article.

It is a common occurrence that alternate head molds appear on Hasbro instruction sheets nowadays, and sighted head mold on the Transformers Dark of the Moon Deluxe Soundwave instruction sheet is not any different. According to an image posted on Twitter by Liam W-S, we see that the figure has an alternate head that he speculates as Blaster. Unfortunately, the original release has been cancelled for the United States market, but is still available in Asia and Canada. Could this figure be released in these markets with the new head mold to pay an homage to the Autobot? Take a look at the image in the full article and let us know what you think of the head mold.

Even though we knew this toy was coming, it is always nice to see an official unveiling of Transformers Movie Trilogy Series Optimus Prime with Trailer before its ceremonious reveal tomorrow at Toy Fair 2012 (did we say we would be there live?). The figure was photographed earlier last month in its glory. The figure combines the original deluxe version from Wal-Mart along with the trailer from TakaraTomy's Optimus Prime Chronicles figure. Want to know what else is showing up at Toy Fair tomorrow? Check out our predictions.

Michael Bay may be laughing all the way to bank, but his peers are not afraid to LOL at him him public. It's no secret that Bay's "leave the story behind as we take no prisoners" formula is what sells tickets. Three times in a row, with increasing box office receipts, the Bay way has proven to be profitable at what a director like Terry Gilliam points out, "You just sit there and watch the explosions. I couldn't tell you what the movie was about. The movie hammers the audience into submission." Read more of Gilliam's take on Transformers after the jump.
