Just in are new official images of the Transformers Universe 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime action figure. Get a look at the beefed up Generation 1 figure reissued for the 1/4 mark with accessory Autobot Shield / voice box with the voice of Peter Cullen himself, DVD pack-in and sweet gatefold packaging. Hasbro has updated their Transformers page with new listings! Included in the latest postings are the Wave 2 Activators, which include Ratchet, Lockdown and Optimus Prime. Click on the names to view the images.

According to NTFA, "Transformers Animated" will be shown on television station MTV3 in Finland. The series will begin airing on September 7 and will be dubbed into Finnish. "Transformers Animated" continues to spread throughout the world, and has currently been sold to over 80 territories worldwide.

According to CNBC.com the recent economic down turn is putting the squeeze on on Hollywood too. According to their sources The Deutsche Bank $450 million financing deal with Paramount Pictures has fallen through. The money was earmarked to fund the production of up to 30 films including those in production already such as "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and the next "Star Trek" movie. It is not known at this time if this will directly effect those films. Read More

Thanks to two new auctions from "menasor1979," we have a look at the Target store exclusive Transformers Universe Comic two-packs announced at BotCon 2008. The packs are Autobot Roadbuster and Dirge, and Springer and Ratbat. Each two-pack comes with a comic that inspired the match-up. Take a look at the in-package shots in the image gallery.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" star Megan Fox (Mikaela Banes) recently spoke with IGN regarding the upcoming sequel and has indicated that the film is "twice the budget" of "Transformers." If we take Ms. Fox's statement in a literal sense, that means the film has a budget of $300 Million. She has also indicated that she will be attending Comic-Con International 2008 in San Diego, taking place July 24 - 28. Read the full interview at IGN.com.

A recent Entertainment Weekly interview with "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" Director Michael Bay contains a little tidbit that the film has started shooting once again. EW writes that the interview was conducted, "[d]uring a break on the set...described to us as a 'remote [Air Force] base' at an 'undisclosed location.'" The remote base most likely refers to Edwards Air Force Base, which we previously reported as a shooting location last week. Roberto Orci further confirms that the film has started shooting again and maybe it never ended at all...Continue reading.

We have learned of some new upcoming Transformers Universe and Robot Heroes (now under the Universe brand) figures via listings in a Wal-Mart store computer. "Zobovor" of the Google Transformers talk group reports that main line figures include deluxe class Cheetor, Cyclonus, Hot Shot, and Starscream. There is also an unknown figure listed just as "Autobot." Click through for information on the upcoming Robot Heroes two-packs.

To follow-up on a previous report here, we have received word that the delayed Transformers Binaltech BT-22 Convoy Feat. Dodge Ram SRT-10 will now be release in September in Japan. The figure was originally expected to be released on July 17, 2008 alongside BT-21 Arcee.

On top of the Transformers Animated Autobots backpack sighted in Wal-Mart stores, it looks like individual Animated characters will be getting similar backpack treatments as well. Two auctions from "ezstore" show that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee backpacks will also be available. The Optimus Prime backpack a smaller backpack emblazoned with an Autobot logo.
