What's In This Wave? Titans Return Wave 3 Voyagers Shipping From Major Online Retailers!
RAC - Friday, February 24, 2017

Major online retailers such as site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store are now receiving Titans Return Voyager Wave 3! We've got our first crack at two entirely new molds in this wave, each of which will later become a Triplechanger. So who's in the wave and what do we know about these? Read on to find out! Optimus Prime is a particularly clever idea for a figure. He's simultaneously an homage to the popular G2 Laser Optimus Prime figure, as well as a "pretool" of Triple-changer Octane, also known as (Tall) Tankor. As such he becomes both a tanker truck and a jet. His Titan Master Diac is named for and patterned after the pilot figures from the Diaclone line that most of the early G1 Transformers molds were drawn from. His head - the connection point as a Titan Master - is painted silver to match the shiny chrome metal heads on Diaclone pilots. Time will tell if that's a good idea! Time will also tell if we get this figure recolored as 2001 Robots in Disguise villain Scourge. If Hasbro doesn't though, Takara probably will (as rumors have recently indicated). And we already know that we will see this mold in a deco more faithful to the original Laser Prime toy in the Crisis on Velocitron boxset due out this year. Complete with the trailer sticker showing Prime starting a forest fire!

Just as Prime is a pretool of Octane, Megatron is a pretool of Blitzwing, who along with the already-announced Broadside will bring all of the G1 Triple Changers into the same size class (if you count Springer and Sandstorm from a few years ago). Patterned off of his G1 self as you'd expect, Megatron is quite similar to the Combiner Wars Leader-class figure, but also turns into a particularly attractive jet. His Titan Master partner is Doomshot. Beyond Blitzwing, who is scheduled for Wave 5 along with Octone(Octane's new trademarkable name), we don't know if this mold is scheduled for any other reuses. Wouldn't surprise us though!
