Transformers Dark of the Moon continues its trek through fallen box office records and has surpassed the $900 million mark worldwide. With daily domestic tallies taken into account, the film has hit $914.2 million.
While early estimates indicated that the third installment debuted at $40 million in China, the real money indicates that the film actually opened with $56 million ($16 million in Thursday night previews).
The Japanese release of the film will take place this weekend, and if China is any indication, the film will top $1 billion in worldwide gross when all is said and done at the end of this weekend.
Dark of the Moon currently stands at the 18th spot of all-time worldwide gross.
