We've got a couple pieces of news about the return of the Robots in Disguise cartoon, which will adopt the Combiner Force branding to reflect this year's toy lineup. First we have a Hasbro Studios sales guide document that describes the Robots in Disguise series, including a total number of episodes to offer, which with a little digging gives us a likely number of episodes for the upcoming season. And along that line we also have a possible start date for the cartoon - at least in Canada. Keep reading to find out more!
Hasbro Studios' sales guide lists RID as having 71 episodes to offer. As of the finish of the six episode "bonus" stretch of season 2 that came after "Decepticon Island", the show stands at 45 episodes. Describing a total episode count of 71 means that the upcoming season should comprise 26 episodes. Whether that will be a season all at once or split to form a season 3 and season 4 for marketing purposes is as yet unknown, but would ultimately come to the same result.
And it looks like Canadian broadcaster Teletoon might be about to get us started with the new season. A vague listing on a TV schedule website indicates a new episode of RID on April 1st. This is not particularly conclusive, as no title or specific description is listed, but it is generally consistent with the previously known intention to have the show begin in the spring of this year. As of this time, a US airdate has not been announced.
