With the significant differences between Hasbro and TakaraTomy versions of both Metroplex and Fortress Maximus - oh and of course can't forget the Devastators! -, many have been wondering just what to expect with the Japanese release of Trypticon. While clearly nowhere near as different as the prior Titans, photos at least let people identify where different shades of colors had been used, right? To settle the question, Trevor Hopkins put a video on Youtube that explains all of what's different, and how much is in fact the same. Summary version of what the video explains:
• The boxes are different • The instructions are different
• The stickers are the same but are printed on a slightly larger sheet • Full Tilt and Necro are the same between versions • And Trypticon and Dinosaurer are both shown to be completely identical in color, with none of the previously perceived differences in shades of the purples, teals, or grey. • Dinosaurer's hips apparently came out of the box in a much better condition than the notable Trypticons from the start of the Hasbro release of the toy.
Trevor himself stresses that aside from maybe being able to know ahead that the hips seem okay, there's no particular point to getting Dinosaurer if you have Trypticon, and you should just get whichever version is easier and less expensive for you.
