Good news! The first BotBots toys have been found at brick and mortar retail in the US this evening. Twitter user Trasufoma has reported the find at a Walmart in Massachusetts, where a "stocking stuffer" mid-aisle display unit had one of its bays filled with the blind pack assortment of BotBots Series 1. Making this news even better, Trasufoma has confirmed for us that the seemingly hand-written number codes we observed on the units sent to us for the BotBots Challenge by Hasbro are present on the regular retail run!
We put together a listing of those number codes, which you can find here with both plain text and visual guides to snagging the BotBot you're looking for.
We examined the assortment breakdown for all of series 1 and found that 16 out of the 24 blind pack BotBots are exclusive to that assortment, with the remaining 8 being available as part of at least one multi-pack set. These are the exclusives to the blind packs in series 1:
As a reminder, these displays may not be near toys, so check the main aisles, especially near the entrances and the cash registers. Trasufoma reports that the singles are prices at $2.97 each, matching the price point of Tiny Turbo Changers.
