Transformers 7 Movie Gets A Green Light With New Republic Pictures Funding

Deadline is reporting that following the success of "Rocketman", New Republic Pictures has worked out a partnership with Paramount Studios to finance 10 new pictures productions, one of which will be a "Transformers 7" movie. The other films included are Mission: Impossible 7, Top Gun: Maverick, The Tomorrow War, Infinite, Without Remorse, Coming 2 America, The Tiger’s Apprentice, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Under the Boardwalk. No details on when or who will direct the film have been decided, but rumors say Michael Bay has expressed interest in coming back to the franchise.

“Following the box office and critical success of Rocketman, we are thrilled to be partnering with Paramount on a number of their upcoming projects. The studio has been producing an enviable slate of commercially exciting, quality films, leveraging their storied library, talent relationships and creative instincts to cultivate existing franchises while launching new ones,” said Bradley Fischer, New Republic. “We look forward to continuing this fruitful relationship and working closely with Jim, Emma and Andrew and their amazing teams as we look towards an exciting 2021 and beyond,” - Paramount Pictures’ Chief Operating Officer Andrew Gumpert

I was too young to be super into the G1 designs but I do like how similar this OP looks. The G1 designs aren't my favorite but I still think they're cool. It also gives me Transformers Prime vibes and since that's the cartoon I grew up with (I think Transformers Animated slipped past me) and my favorite, that's an instant plus for me!

I like the designs of Transformers prime. I think it was an excellent merger between the Michael Bay designs and Transformers animated. I'm not a huge fan of overly technical designs. It's almost like they're naked with car parts on top of their body. I don't like that because it makes me feel like in a fight, they're completely fragile and exposed.

I don't agree with this. This looks like the G1 toy combined with the first Michael Bay Prime. I would have to get used to this like I did at the Bay movies version.

Hey I mean Bay brought us the first three movies and did what he had to do but...I look forward to seeing what this new guy will bring to the table. Guess I need to actually watch Bumblebee first though?

I'm glad, I'll leave room in my imagination for this one being a really killer film. First Bay movie wasn't too "true" to the original content/ characters, obviously, but struck a great chord with me and my friends and family for being very funny and having some great action scenes. Haven't seen Bumblebee but it seems to have won back over the audience that saw the first one, so I hope they continue doing well with these. The live action films add something to Transformers that the other media doesn't, even if the "true" fans don't like it (no disrespect to the "true" fans, of course).
