What would be more fun than toys and candy? Takara has produced quite a few interesting products in this area over the years. One of the few and strangest to be sold in America was the Toys R Us exclusive Transformers Armada Bubble Twist candy toys made by Cap Candy in 2003. Sold in red tubes, that as the name suggests, were twisted to make bubble gum ooze out of one end. Hidden beneath the candy dispenser was a randomly packed and colored PVC character figure from the Armada series.
Today's Prime shot takes a look at some of these Transformers Armada Bubble Twist Optimus Prime candy toys. As you can see there isn't much, not even paint apps, to the roughly 2-inches tall figures that sold for $2 USD. The Super Mode Optimus Primes appear with the candy dispensers and some of the other characters and colors, shown left to right: blue Megatron, black Optimus Prime, purple Hot Shot, red Optimus Prime, and black Starscream.
