Paramount Reported to Sign Steven Caple Jr to Direct Next Transformers 7 Movie

Following on the recent report that Paramount has green-lit a new Transformers 7 sequel in the on-going live-action movie franchise for 2022. Movie entertainment site, Deadline, is reporting the contest between James Vanderbilt and Joby Harold for a Transformers movie script that has been finalized with Harold's being selected for production. At which point, a "lengthy search" was conducted resulting in the selection of Steven Caple Jr. as director for the next Transformers Movie.

Following a lengthy search, Paramount Pictures and Hasbro Studios have set Steven Caple Jr. to direct the new Transformers pic in the reinvented universe. After meeting with several top execs including Paramount Motion Picture President Emma Watts, the studio saw Caple as the best fit for the franchise that the studio chose to revamp at the top of the year.

With Cape, best known for his work on "The Land" (2016) and "Creed II" (2018), it appears Paramount is following a similar plan to the Bumblebee Movie with bringing on an up and coming director for the all-new installment. Even still, Michael Bay is expected to play a producer role much as he did in the Bumblebee Movie.

Hey I mean Bay brought us the first three movies and did what he had to do but...I look forward to seeing what this new guy will bring to the table. Guess I need to actually watch Bumblebee first though?
